Chapter #4: Past and present

"Hindi. Hindi ako babalik hangga't di tyo naguusap."

I sighed.

"Ano bang gusto mong pag-usapan?"

"Alden... I'm sorry, I'm sorry I left you, I broke your heart, and I'm sorry for everything that I've done. You didn't deserve those things, you didn't deserve me. I'm very selfish and immature to be with a perfect guy and an every girl's dream man like you. I hope and I know that you have moved on from our past."

"Move on? Of course I have. Do you possibly think na ikaw lang ang makaka move-on? And thanks for admiting the truth, you don't have to say it anyways. You are selfish, Maine."

I heard her sigh. Then I felt bad for her.

"I'm sorry... I'm glad you have moved on."

She hugged me and I hugged her back.

"Sige, Alden. Babalik na ko dun. I'm glad were in good conditions now. I still feel bad for myself for leaving you behind. Not minding your heart. I hope to see you soon?"

I nodded slowly, then she smiled. She went back in and I left the party.

The next day...

"Babe? Meet me at the mall, please? I want to see you badly right now."

I sighed then spoke again.

"Raffa, I told you tha--"

"Please, Babe! I can't stand another day without us being together..."

"Fine."

"Talaga? Yay! Thank you so much, babe! I love you, see you soon!"

*Call ended*

I changed into my clothes and drove to the mall.
I saw Raffa, waiting for me at the store. She waved at me and approached me. She hugged me and kissed my cheek.

"I missed you so much, babe! Let's go?"

"Teka, san? Aren't we going home to fix things out?"

"Babe, later na lng. Besides, andito na tyo eh."

I sighed as she pulled me inside the store. After minutes of picking clothes and stuff, she went inside the fitting room to try it out. I sat on the couch, and waited for her to finish. I looked around the store, then spotted her inside. She also saw me and approached me.

"Hey. What are you doing here?"

"Girlfriend-sitting."

"Oh, really? Who's this lucky gir--"

She wasn't able to finish her sentence because Raffa came out.

"Babe, I'm done na-- Who's this?"

I stood up and went beside her.

"Umm, Babe, meet Maine. College-friend ko. Maine, meet Raffa, my fianće."

Maine looked closely at Raffa then they both did a hand-shake.

"Nice to meet you, Maine. And since you are a friend of Alden, you are my friend too. I hope you can attend the wedding?"

Raffa said while getting an invitation from her bag and handing it to Maine.

"Oh. Wow. Thanks! Congrats, Alden, kakasal ka na pala."
