Another Chance

Chapter 10

Hermione and Draco did the last sweep of the train to make sure that no one was left behind. Hermione came and sat down with the rest of the Gryffindors. Harry looked at here and asked,

"Where were you for the rest of the train ride?"

"I will tell you after the McGonagall's speech." Hermione said.

McGonagall stood after the first years got sorted into their houses. The room went silent,

"Welcome back to Hogwarts and welcome first years. I also want to welcome back last year's seventh years who are eighth years, I am happy that you all decided to return this year to finish your education. I have a few things to say before we start to eat. First thing, the Forbidden Forest is off limit." McGonagall looked toward the Gryffindor's table at Ron, Hermione, and Harry. Everyone started to laugh. "Secondly, let me introduce our new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, Mr. Harry Potter." Harry stood up from the Gryffindor table and waved. Everyone was surprised that McGonagall aloud that. "Lastly, the new Head Boy and Girl are Miss Hermione Granger and Mr. Draco Malfoy." Hermione and Draco stood up from where they were sitting. All the Gryffindors were cheering for Hermione. "Alright let the feast begin." McGonagall finished her speech.

Everyone started to chat and catch up with everyone. All the Gryffindors congratulated Harry and Hermione on their achievements. Hermione was glad to be back to Hogwarts, everyone had a hard year last year and they could finally relax and hope that they get a calming school year. McGonagall stood up once more after the feast was over and said,

"Before everyone goes back to their dorm, Mr. Harry Potter would like to say a few words to all of you." Harry walked up to the podium and said,

"It has been a long seven years and more for the most of us. We have lost a lot of great people along the way. But I want each and every one of you to not think of the death of our loved ones but how they lived and touched our lives. They died as heroes. They did not die in vain; their goal was to change the future for the better and a safer place for all of us to live. They are not forgotten, the ones we lost will always be there with us. Right here, in our hearts. Just remember the greatest power is love because love will always concern all!" Harry said finishing his speech.
