When he got home from work, he changed his clothes then knocked to her door.
"Hello! Baka gusto mo ng burger. May promo kasi ang burker king, buy one take one", of course that was a lie.
He waited for two minutes. Then finally she answered.
"Wag na... Ok lang ako", her voice was a bit a sad.
"Sigurado ka? Masarap 'to"
She didn't answer. He waited for five minutes. Then another. And another.
"Anong sabi ng isda
sa isa pang isda?"
No answer.
"Edi sapsap yow! Sapsap, yow", then he sighed. He looked at the burger he bought.
"Okay lang yan, baka busog na siya"
"Ako, gutom", he looked up then saw Mr.Jani.
"Mr.Jani", he nodded then handed him the burger.
Mr.Jani just shook his head.
"Pasok ka", he said. And he did.
"Jani na lang. 28 lang ako", he continued.
He just followed him silently.
"Water?", he offered.
He just nodded.
"Hindi ka ba natatakot na baka multo yung kausap mo sa kabilang kwarto?"
"Po?"
Mr.Jani chuckled.
"Biro lang"
"Matagal na po ba siya dito?", he asked.
"Nauna pa ako, bago siya. More or less six months na siguro"
"Talaga po? Na.. Nakita niyo na po siya?"
"Yes"
"Ta-talaga po? Anong itsura niya?"
"Does it matter?"
He shook his head.
"Pero gusto ko siyang makita"
"Do you know her name?", he asked again.
"Yes. But I won't say. I think you need to work for that"
"I will"
Mr.Jani just smiled.
"She's worth it", he said.
