Last na pala ha?, he thought mocking himself as he stood infront of her door the next morning.

He just can't. He wanted to hear her voice.

Ang lambing kasi.

He clenched a fist.

Malambing yung boses, hindi yung tao.

Stomping a foot, he went back to his unit.

She was on her door, gathering all the courage that she had. She knew she had hurt his feelings. She was thinking to go out of her unit and knock on his room. It's 5:37 in the morning and he used to knock on her door at exactly 5:45am. She bit her lip. Then slowly held her door knob.

Anong sasabihin ko sa kanya?
Hi? Ako yung nasa kabilang unit.
Hello kita mo? Naka-wheel chair ako.

She gritted her teeth then let go of the door knob.

Wag na lang! In the firs place hindi ko naman sinabing katukin niya ako dito para magnaknak at magdala ng adobo!

5:45am

She was waiting for him to knock. She waited for fifteen more minutes, and another, and another. But, there is none. Not even a single knock.

She looked at her door then whispered:

"Sorry na"

He went home early, he don't feel working today. He walked to his unit to and fro thinking if he should knock or not. He sighed then bit his lip.

"Kingina. Hindi ko matiis!", he grunted storming his way out of his unit.

/

She finally decided to go to his unit when she heard the door closed signalling he was there. She reached for her door knob, just when she's about to turn it, she heard continuous knocks. She smiled.

"Hi"

She can't speak but she also can't help but smile.

"Hi", he repeated.

She gulped then answered, "Ano 'yon?"

"Ano kasi... Uhmm.. Ano lang, tanong ko lang kung..may, meron ka bang suka? Ano kasi eh, nag..ano.. Nagluluto ako ng, ahm.. Sinigang! Tama, sinigang.. Naubusan ako ng suka"

She grinned. She remembered the very first time he tried to approach her. And when she lied about the soy sauce. Would she lie again?

She rolled her wheelchair towards the window, then smiled. No. She won't lie again.

"Meron", she answered her voice a bit louder.

"Kaso hindi ko maabot eh", she added.

"Ikaw na lang kumuha, hindi naka-lock ang pinto.. Pasok ka", she continued.

And as her heart beats faster she thought, Bahala na.
