Letter#4: From Sam to Ivan

Hey Ivan,

How are you? How is your work going on?

Alex told us about your letter and it is a sweet gesture for you both to write letters to each other. I really love the idea of you both writing letters.

You are such a kind and noble person. Each time you write a letter to Alex, you ask her about me. I really like the fact that you haven't forgotten me. Thank you so much for caring about me.

I suggested to Alice that all of us should write letters to you. We should all have a chance to bond with each other even more. We really miss you here Ivan.

Ivan, I have something to tell you. Alex has been in hospital. She had a major cardiac arrest last week. Do you know about any of her previous illness?

We were so shocked to learn that three out of four valves of her heart are dysfunctional. The doctors have replaced the valves. We didn't have many funds so Bella gave all her savings for her treatment. She had been saving it for investment with Mr. Bradley but she didn't care and gave it up for Alex.

Alex is so lucky. Everyone loves her. You, Bella, Jake; everyone is by her side. She is likely to survive for hardly six months or probably a couple of years. The doctors are doubtful of her chances of recovery as her condition is critical. I don't want to upset you but I think you should know about it.

Alex didn't want us to inform you but I thought you should not be uninformed of this news. She wanted to inform you about it herself. I think so. Alex, I wanted to be with you at this hour. I wish I could comfort you.

Don't worry, Ivan. We are all here for Alex. I'm staying in the hospital with her. Jake is also with me. He never leaves her side even for a minute.

Don't worry about her too much. We're all here. You relax and I'll keep you updated with her progress.
