Letter#22: Ivan to Jake

To my dear brother, Jake  

I hope everything is going well and you will be happy with Alex.

Bella told me that you have proposed Alex. I know that you've been in love with her for a long time. Do you really think that marrying her is a good decision? I don't think you need to marry someone if you want to care for them. Don't get me wrong but Alex doesn't deserve you. She betrayed me and my love. She didn't care for all those golden moments that we spent together. She is just an opportunist who left everything when she got to know about her filthy rich family. She deserves to stay alone and unhappy. She used her illness as an excuse to get rid of me and my love. She knew I could never give her the things she has now. 

She wanted to step into another world where she is no longer surrounded by us and our problems. She never considered us as her family or even friends. She wanted to go to the world in which she is the center of attention. She wanted the spotlight for herself. The fame, money, status, and name which I or you can never give her. Everything revolves around her and she still pretends to everyone that she is the same Alexandra who used to be our friend, who was my love, my life, and everything. 

Jake, you're my brother. Therefore, it is my duty to protect you from her charms. You've just fallen for her. We know that Alexandra is not the right person for you. You cannot live your whole life with her. She controls you. She is an expert in playing mind games. She gave Sam her grandmother's brooch and showed everyone how caring and loving she is. You have a kind heart and a noble soul. You don't love her. You just sympathize her. You're intelligent and sincere.

Bella was wrong to think that I'd be unhappy to know about your relationship with Alex. She was expecting me that I'd break down and shatter by this news. It doesn't matter to me anymore. I have my wife and family to look forward to.

 Upon the mention of family, I'd like to tell you that we (me and Sam) are expecting our first child very soon. I'm very happy with the news. I have moved on quite a long ago in my life. I don't want anyone to destroy our happiness. I won't let anyone do it. I won't allow any hurt for my wife and children. This child means a ray of hope and joy in our lives. 

Jake, just be careful. Revise your decisions. I don't want you to end up regretting one mistake. You better be careful than sorry. She's too clever to cross.
