I couldn't believe it was October already. Sam and I still haven't been able to talk. I mostly handled my time between school, Justin, my friends, and work. I work at a bookstore owned by an elderly couple. They are so cute. I love working there.

I drove to school and got out and walked over to the group and Justin was there waiting for me. I came over and he wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

"Hey everyone!" I smiled.

"Hi!" Lily waved and manged to hug me.

"So what are we talking about?" I asked.

"Nothing really," Sam said.

I looked at him and then looked away. Molly then started to talk about something that happened in class yesterday. After a bit we then headed into the school. I kissed Justin bye and walked to my locker and grabbed a few things before heading to Creative Writing class with Lily and Lane.

Class was normal, nothing really happened and same goes for Math class. I partnered up with Justin during class and that was fun...well as fun as math can get. Soon Choir came along and I found Lily and Molly walking to class and I joined them.

Once there we found Sam and sat down next to him, Molly sat on my left and Lily sat on my right and Sam on her right. Then Mrs. Hathaway came in and she looked very happy.

"Class! We are going to put on a show! The songs we have been working on we will sing them and I will choose 3 people for solos." Everyone looked around the class thinking who was going to get the solos.

Mrs. Hathaway then did roll call and then started our warm-ups. Afterwards she sat down and smiled at us again.

"Okay I will now tell you the three people I choose." Mrs. Hathaway read off two names in the class and Lily frowned since she wasn't one of them and Molly and Sam didn't care they didn't make it either.

"And the last one is Mia Holland! Congrats you three, after class I want you to tell me the song you want to sing so think carefully." Mrs. Hathaway then had us sing but I was too stunned to follow along.

Mrs. Hathaway wanted me to sing a solo! I still had my stupid stage fright. Lily was smiling at me since she was happy I made it and Molly looked at me.

"Hey girly, are you okay?" Molly asked.

'"No, I don't want to do a solo." I looked at them with panicked eyes.

"You will do fine Mia, I think you should go for it." I heard Sam say.

I leaned forward and looked at him, "Really?" I asked.

"Yeah really, now think of a song before class ends." Sam then looked forward.

I leaned back in my seat and started to think of what to sing. I had too many songs I liked but I also had to choose one that was appropriate. When class ended I walked over to Mrs. Hathaway and then waited for the other 2 to tell them their songs.

"Mia, so what do you want to sing?" Mrs. Hathaway asked me.

"Counting Stars by OneRepublic, I really like the song." I smiled.

"Okay, is lunch okay to practice?" Mrs. Hathaway asked me.

"Yeah," I nod my head.

"Okay then at lunch today come here and we will practice." I nod my head and then left with the others and they asked what I choose and I told them it was a secret.

I wanted them to be surprised when Friday comes.

Friday night was finally here and after we did our group songs the solos began. Mrs. Hathaway thought my song would be a good to end the Choir concert. I was freaking out and pacing. I took my phone out and texted Justin but after a few seconds there was no reply. I sighed and leaned against the wall. I was starting to sweat and my heart felt like it was going to explode and my stomach kept churning. 

I wanted nothing more then to hide under a rock and stay there. What if I mess up?! I felt like crying since I was freaking out so much.

"Mia.." I heard my name and turned to see Sam.

"Sam, have you seen Justin?" I asked with wide frightened eyes.

"No, I was going to ask if you've seen Josey."

"No," I look down at the ground.

"Don't worry Mia, you are going to do fine. How many times do I need to tell you that?" Sam asked as he walked over to me.

"But-"

"No buts, don't think of the people go to your happy place or something. I know you are going to kill it out there." Sam smiled when I looked up at him.

"Thanks Sam, you always knew the right words to say to me." I smiled sadly.

Sam looked like he was going to say something but Mrs. Hathaway came over.

"Come on dear, you are about to go on." Mrs. Hathaway pulled me away and I looked back at Sam and he smiled at me.

Mrs. Hathaway walked on after Page finished her solo. "Now for the last solo, Mia Holland singing Counting Stars by... OneRepublic."

I walked out to the stage and stood in front of the microphone. The song started and I took a deep breath and started to sing.

After the Choir concert the group met up and Justin was telling I did great. But I was wondering where he was when I needed him but I didn't voice this. We went out for pizza and everyone said I did great except Josey. But I didn't care. 

Since I rode with Molly and Lily, Justin was taking me home. When he pulled up to the apartments he leaned over and gave me a kiss.

"You really did great," he smiled sweetly at me.

"Thanks, I felt like I was going to die from the stage fright." I sighed.

"But you made it!" Justin laughed.

"I'll text you when I get home." Justin said and I got out and waved as he pulled away.

I walked into my apartments and Mama and Papa greeted me and I took them out for the night and then changed. I settled onto my bed and I heard my phone go off.

I unlocked my phone thinking it was Justin texting me but it wasn't and I read it.

you sang amazing as always everyone loved it see you monday

I smiled at the text Sam sent me, it was just a friendly text...right?
