Estefania's P.O.V.
What did she mean? I have to look harder. So many questions without answers. I needed an answer. I was very impatient and I needed an answer. But instead I went to play with Andrea and Eli. I scurried upstairs looking for them, thinking that they would be in the ballroom. Mama introduced it to me and told me stories about when she and aunt Anna used to play there when they were younger. I saw them there and hurried over to them. "Hi!" I called to them.
"Hey, Stephie!" they called back. Andrea was eleven and Elizabeth was ten. Both were much older than me but they both took me in like their little sister. As I got closer to them Eli asked, "What should we do?" Andrea and I shrugged in return.
"Tag?" I suggested.
"Na," Andrea replied.
"Duck, duck, goose!" I exclaimed cheerfully.
"Eh, I really don't want to play that," Elizabeth replied.
"Come on, guys! Think!" I exclaimed. I was beginning to get hyper and more jumpy.
"I've got nothing," Andrea said giving up.
"Same here," Eli chimed. I started thinking but nothing came to me.
"We need my mom," I said sadly. I really didn't want to get my mom and disturb her from whatever she was doing. Then I got an idea. "I know!" I exclaimed.
"What?" Andrea and Eli asked in unison. They were so perfect together as sisters.
"Let's go prank our parents," I implied slyly.
"Are you sure we should," Eli asked worryingly. She was the cautious one of our little group.
"Come on. Loosen up! Have some fun in your life," Andrea encouraged patting Eli on her back.
"Okay . . ."
"Come on!" I called back at them and ran downstairs.
