Chapter 5

We arrived at my father's house, somewhere along Ugbor road,Benin city, Edo state.

It was a mansion. Beautiful and well painted with almost 2-3 colours.

I can't wait to go in.

"Wow, Dad". " Your house is beautiful".I said stepping out of the car.

"Oh, thank you princess".He said smiling at me.

We went inside and settled in.His wife came out to greet us.While my father went upstairs to freshen up.

She's beautiful though. This would be my second time meeting her. The first was during their wedding ceremony.

" Oh hello, Felicia".My dad's wife said smiling and hugging me.

"Its Favour not Felicia".I corrected her.

" Oh ok, Favour, how are you"?.she said while taking a seat.

"Am fine". I replied looking around the sitting room.

She called her house help to serve me a cold orange juice and some biscuits.

" Thank you,Ma".I greeted her while drinking my juice and throwing some biscuits in my mouth.

"You welcomed, my dear, make your self comfortable. This is also your house". She said while getting up and going up stairs.

The house help came to show me my room upstairs. I didn't bring any clothes so that means am not staying for long.

I kept on touring the House,and allowing the decorations and fittings to blown me away.

I walked around the sitting room.I saw their marriage pictures hanging on the wall. And i saw a portrait of her and my father.The painting looks so real and neat.

I noticed that my father had this broad smile on his face on the portrait.

A smile that was missing when he was with my Mom. Looks like he is happy with his new wife.

I then remembered that i saw their house help.She was looking old,not too old but matured kind of old.Like a woman between her late 30s or so.

***My mind then flashback to 5 years ago when my Parents had a quarrel about getting an house help. My mother was strongly against the house help issue.

She's said, she doesn't want someone that will come and spoil her marriage or corrupt her children.

She said some house help are possessed with one kind of spirit or the other.

Some are wicked and evil.

Some are born prostitutes,that will seduced her husband.

And bla bla bla bla.***

The thought of it made me laugh.

But here is my father and his wife living peacefully with their house help.

Well,let me not say peacefully because you can never tell what is going on behind the scenes.

Few minutes later, my Dad came downstairs dressed in a shirt and short with a cap to compliment it all.

"Hey,let's go out" He said opening the door.

"Um..where are we going"?. I asked looking confused.

" Anywhere of your choice".My Dad said smiling at me.

"Honey,hurry up".He shouted facing the stairs.

" Am coming ".My dad's wife replied from where ever she is up stairs.

" Why is she coming with us "?.I asked my dad walking towards the car.

" She wants to have fun with us ".my dad said starting the car.

"Hope, you are ok with her coming with us?".my dad asked me while i sat down at the backseat.

" Um...its ok "." No problem ". I said looking down my phone as if i have being waiting for a message or a call.

" Alright, you are going to enjoy having her around". "She's fun".My Dad said giving me a reassuring smile.

" Ok, am ready, let's go".My dad's wife said entering the car.

And so we drove off.

We went to some fun places that i picked.

We went to the shopping mall. We bought lot's of things and i really enjoy my dad's wife presence. She's cool.

By the way her name is Anita,light skinned, tall and a little bit curvaceous.
She speaks English like she owns the language.

Thereafter, we came back home,had dinner,showered and went to bed.

My dad's wife gave me some of her old clothes since i didn't bring any. They sized me very well,I must say.

Today was really fun but i noticed that something or rather someone was missing, my brother,Austin,he hasn't called me throughout today.

I just hope he is safe.
