Chapter 14

After 8 weeks of being in the hospital. I was discharged,I was still having reoccurring headaches but the doctor assured me that it will stop only if i continue taking my drugs.

My Mom requested for a transfer from Asaba hospital to the University of Benin teaching hospital (UBTH). She wanted to be close to me. The doctor said i need to stay around in case for emergency.

My Mom rented an apartment not far from the hospital.

It was a two bedroom flat.Our former house was better than it. But we just have to manage.

I still haven't heard anything concerning Austin.

It was October and i need to resume school.

A new one.

I hate being the new student.

I have missed the whole of September.

I have to catch up,get use to the school, make new friends etc.

The thought of making new friends made me froze.

Oh Charlotte.

I started school at New leaders international school,Benin, Edo State.

It was big,bigger than Bridgetown.

I heard the owner is a politician.

I entered my class Senior Secondary School 2.

It was rowdy and noisy.

I thought it was their own way of welcoming new students.

In Bridgetown no students would try to make noise.

The school always have a way of maintaining this quietness from beginning to closing.

The presence of the principal and me made them quiet.

I saw disappointment written all over the face of the principal.

This was a very bad welcoming.

Before anybody could say anything they all chorused...

'YOU ARE WELCOME TO NEW LEADERS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL.
A SCHOOL OF GROOMING NEW LEADERS'

*Really*I said to myself.

I was given a seat. Front seat.

I sat alone.

I was a social science student.

The first one week was ok.

I was always on my own.

Copying my notes and paying attention.

I wanted to make friends but the thought of it scares Share
