It was Monday, the day the West African Senior School Certificate Examination will kick off. The school was rowdy, students running left and right looking for one mathematical set or text book.
The first paper was Civic Education. The exam was scheduled to start by 9:00am. I noticed other school students were around.
'never knew my school is a center'.
I settled down, carried the waec calculator they gave us,adjusted my uniform skirt for the last time and went upstairs to the main hall because our head teacher was already shouting for us to get settled when it was just 8:15am.
Too early.
He looked so tensed, like he doesn't want to embarrass himself or rather we should not embarrass him, since we were the host school we need to be of 'good behavior' because invigilators were coming. Noticed he was wearing a new skyblue shirt and a well ironed black trouser, unlike him.
I settled on my seat waiting for my partner. It was two in a seat, with a large space in our middle. I don't know who my partner will be, but i pray they give me somebody smart and cooperative.
'Hope u get'
Three minutes to 9am, the hall was filled with students. Our hall was big enough to contain over 1000 students. Three other schools were writing in my school. My partner was a boy, wearing a brown trouser and a milk colored long sleeve shirt. I admired him,he was looking neat and quiet. I wanted to start a conversation but I thought of something....
'what is the need of making friends when you might not see them again after this exam'
The thought discouraged me and i just kept on looking ahead waiting patiently for the exam to start. Meanwhile, my head was banging with headache.
The exam started with a calm atmosphere and ended with a rough and ugly one. Because some students were complaining that they didn't finish before they collected their answer booklet. Some wanted extra time but didn't get it,some ended up quarreling with some of the invigilators over alleged exam malpractice. In fact different reasons.
I finished before time and left the hall, I couldn't endure the pain anymore i craved for my 'drug'.*****
"Ugh,this is what i want"." I miss you so much baby ".I was currently in Jerry's house. He was the only help i could get at that time. I have taken 3 packets of the drug. It was what i wanted. I craved for it. I was getting so addicted to the 'drug',i am not sure i can live without it. I want it every seconds, minute and hour. In fact it should be my food. My mom called asking about the exam, I told her I still have another paper, so i will come home late but it was a lie. I no longer want my house. I don't like my mom's presence anymore. I was tired of lifeEverything and Everyone!
