Sly was in the Safe House, flipping through the pages of the Thievius Raccoonus, until his binocucom went off. He closed the book and set it down before grabbing the device and answering the call only to find Rae trying to contact him. "Oh? And what good fortune have I stumbled upon for you to call me, hmm?" He smirked.
The fox returned his sly grin. "Cute..." She said in a playful tone. "Look, I don't have time for the juicy details -- Bentley's informed me that his sources have said Octavio hired the Blue Viper Gondola Gang to take out Nick and Carmelita."
"The Blue Vipers? Those guys are nasty! We've gotta get to them before they get to those two."
"They're off on their patrol now, so the Blue Vipers can't be far behind." Rae said. "Just hurry over here and I should have one of these police boats hotwired by the time you get here."
"Got it. I'm on my way." Sly then disconnected, grabbing his cane and exiting the Safe House.
Meanwhile, after putting her binocucom away, Rae climbed in one of the police boats. "Okay... I just need to cross the blue wire with this red wire and..."
Crackle!
"Nice! Well, that sure was easier than I thought." She grinned. "Now let's see if I can even drive this thing..."
"How about you shoot and I'll drive?"
"Hmm?" The fox turned to see Sly up on the dock, Rae flashing a smirk at him.
"Hey there, beautiful."
"Nice of you to join me, Lady Killer."
Sly laughed. "Please, you flatter me."
"Hop in, dearest." Rae then said, still playing along with the whole theme they were doing. "Should I drive or do you wanna do it?"
"I'll just pilot this thing while you take the gun. Sound good?"
"Good enough for me, now let's hurry."
"Right, and right on time too, because there here go the Vipers now." Sly then revved the engine before taking off away from the dock.
"This canal is packed with shipping, so make sure you bob and weave through it, otherwise we're sunk."
Rae started firing the gun, trying to shoot out the Vipers' engines. However, as she was shooting the gun, she suddenly gasped, letting go of the handles. "Ah! Oww!" She winced.
"What's wrong?" Sly asked.
"The gun just overheated and burned my hands, but luckily, I'm wearing gloves, so I'll be fine. However, if this gun is gonna overheat like that, it just means I'll have to use short bursts instead, which is kind of annoying..."
"Just make sure to shoot out their engines."
"Yeah, I know." She then grabbed the gun again and started shooting once more, making sure to use short bursts as she mentioned so she wouldn't burn herself again.
Bang!
"That's one Viper down!" Rae said when she finally took out a boat.
"Just two left." Sly grinned.
Rae continued shooting at the engines while Sly was weaving his way through the canal around everything that was in his way. The fox grinned when she finally managed to blow out another engine, leaving only one boat left to take out. "Nice shootin', Rae!" Sly said.
"Just one more to go."
The two worked together, trying to take out the last Viper, but this one finally wised up. Suddenly, he threw something back, a small object landing in their boat. Rae glanced back, but Sly was the first to react. "Shit! It's a bomb!"
