I watched in horror from my spot in the lake of SFIT as the showcase building lit up in red flames. The sound of screams and the crackling of the fire filling my ears. I clutched onto my necklace that contained a magical liquid, allowing me to change my mermaid tail into human legs. The potion would only last for twenty four hours but I had been planning to use it on a different day to see the city.

I watched as a young man ran into the building, his younger brother calling out for him desperately. I frowned feeling bad for the boy, wanting to help him in any way I could. Staring down at my necklace I sighed, deciding to do what was need to be done. Praying that the sea goddess would give me another chance to see the human world, I popped open the cap and let the bitter liquid run down my throat.

I watched as my tail glowed a gold color in the water before I felt two limbs dangling below me keeping me afloat. Gasping in disbelief I smiled to myself before pulling my body out of the water and onto the dry land. My sea shell bra had disappeared along with my tail, so I sat on the ground behind a bush completely naked. But thankfully a red cloak magically appeared in front of me, so I quickly wrapped it around my body to cover myself.

Quickly standing up I felt my knees wobble due to the unusual feeling of having legs. Still, I kept myself steady as much as I could and ran towards the building. My bare feet felt tingly on the concrete floor as I approached the burning building. When I saw the young raven haired boy run towards the building I quickly grabbed his arm pulling him back.

"You mustn't." I say the hood of the cloak hiding my face from the boy.

"What? My brother is in there! He'll die if I don't go in there, who are you anyways?" The boy shouted over the loud flames.

"And if you go in there you'll both die. Let me help." I say and he gives me a suspicious look.

"Trust me. I promise I will get your brother back to safety." I say and watched as the brown eyed boy nods.

I run into the building my bare feet feeling hot as I head further in to the flames. "Professor Callaghan!" I hear a voice call out in the distance and I squint, approaching the voice.

"Hello??" I call out trying to locate the older boy.

When I see a part of the building collapse I see a figure jump away from the falling objects and fall. I quickly make my way over to the person and see them laying on the ground coughing up a storm.

"Are you alright?" I gasp as I kneel in front of the Asian male.

His cardigan was torn, his hair messy, with black dirt on his face. But his warm brown eyes stared into mine and I felt my heart skip a beat. He was absolutely gorgeous.

"What are you doing in here? It dangerous." He coughs and I frown.

"I've come to help. I'm getting you out of here." I say and help him up to his feet.

"I can't. Professor Callaghan, he's still in here." The dark haired boy says as he leans on me.

I slightly loose my footing, still getting used to my feet before I am helped up. "It seems like your the one who needs help standing." The boy chuckles slightly and I blush.
