1984

Connie is sleeping on her couch in the living room passed out drunk.

With Taxi playing on the tv surrounded by past due bills that she hasn't gotten around to paying yet.

Since her husband has been gone, she's been finding it hard to maintain this big beautiful home that she once loved so much.

A young Scott slides his dump truck right into the coffee table by where Connie is sleeping and causes her cigarette pack to fall to the ground.

Scott continues to play with his truck throughout the house.

Sliding it into every wall and dropping it from his hand to the floor.

The truck goes from the living room to the hallway that leads down to the basement.

As Scott comes around the corner to pick up his truck, the basement door creeks open a little as if it were inviting Scott down to the basement.

Young Scott picks up his toy and walks down to the first landing and sits himself and his toy down.

He then pushes it down the last flight of stairs going into the dark eerie basement.

He watches the truck roll into the darkest spot in the basement and goes after it and start playing again.

He follows the path through boxes into a gloomy room, but he can't seem to find his toy anywhere.

A box falls onto another and scares him.

As he runs out of the room going back towards the upstairs, sees his truck.

He crawls under these old coffee tables and end tables just to get to it.

And just as he goes to reach it, he sees a demon like creature eyeing him as if he were protecting that toy from Scott.

The creature then reaches out for Scott pulling him closer to try and eat him alive for getting too close.

Just then, Stephanie Olusola grabs him and saves Scott from creature.

"No, Tyler! Go away!" Stephanie says as she pulls Scott away from him.

Tyler just stares at her and disappears into the darkness of the basement.

Stephanie hugs Scott to calm him down from what just happened.

"Shh. Shh. Tell me. What's your name?" She asks.

"S-Scott."

"Scott, if Tyler comes back to scare you again, just shut your eyes and say, 'Go away!' You understand, Scott?"

Scott nods as he looks at Stephanie.

"He'll mind you 'cause I'm going to protect you." She says.

"I wish you were my mommy." Scott whispers.

Stephanie smiles at him and brushes his blonde hair back.

"Now, dry your tears, child. Life is too short for so much sorrow."

Present day

Scott finds his same dump truck in the basement where he lost it years before and memories start to flood back to him.

He then hears Stephanie crying from another part of the basement and goes to find where she's at.

Scott turns the corner and finds Stephanie sitting on a wooden box crying into her hands.

She then looks up at him.

"Who are you?" She spats.

"It's me, Scott." He says holding his toy truck.

She stops crying a little and stares at him through puffy red eyes.

"Life's too short for so much sorrow." He says.

"You're wrong. It's an eternity." Stephanie says between tears.

Scott stares at he as tears come to his eyes.

"Just endless days and nights of longing. Where's my baby?" Stephanie crying.

Scott sighs and sets down his toy truck to talk with Stephanie.

"That's what I want to talk to you about." He says.

"You-you promised me. You made one with her, the-the lady of the house."

Stephanie begins to walk towards Scott withe her tear stained face.

"Nel! That's Mitch's mother. And I can't give you that baby anymore. Everything's changed, Stephanie."

She stares at Scott and back down at the floor confused at what he's telling her.

"I'm in love with Mitch." He says.

"I see." She says.

"I just can't take his brother away."

"But I can. And I will."

Stephanie walks closer to Scott and brushes the hair away from his cheek.

"That baby is mine."
