Yay finally an update! Also, sorry it's been so long this chapter has actually been sitting in my drafts and I totally forgot about it until now😬

The doorbell rings as Mike goes to answer to reveal Rick standing there with a smile.

"Trick or treat!" Rick laughs with an empty candy basket.

He steps outside and closes the door behind him to talk to Rick privately on the front porch.

"What are you doing here?"

"Um, trick or treat?"

Mike sighs.

It's Hallo-week. I do the full seven days. It's the only time I can really be myself." Rick says.

Mike just continues to stand there with his arms crossed over his chest as Rick goes on talking to him.

"So, uh, just pop the thousand bucks in the pumpkin here, and nobody will be the wiser." Rick says.

Mike takes Rick by his collar and pushes and pulls him to the from gate.

"Get off my property now!" Mike demands.

"Or what? You'll call the cops?" Rick asks.

"You know what? I just might. I didn't do anything." Mike says.

"No? Well, that gazebo in the backyard sure went up pretty darn quick. I have to wonder if you got all the proper permits. Maybe somebody should place a call to the city's inspector, and have him come down here and check it out." Rick spats.

Mike laughs. "What's under that gazebo is what you did!"

"But what's inside what's under that gazebo is what you did! That is not my baby in there. Nel finds that out, your family is over." Rick fires back.

He stares at Mike with fire in his eyes knowing he's going to get that thousand dollars out of Mike if it's the last thing he does.

"Now...give me my treat. You don't want the trick." Rick says shaking his bucket.

Mike snatches the bucket from Rick's hand and drop kicks it across the yard causing the candy in it to fly everywhere.

"I'm done talking. I have a patient." Mike says walking back towards the front door.

"And I have patience. But there is a limit." Rick says.

Mike ignores him and continues to walk into the house trying to forget Rick was even there just now.

He takes a deep breath and walks back towards his office.

"I've agreed to this meeting because we need to clarify a few things. Firstly, the psychiatrist that I recommended you to, Dr. Goldman, said you never showed up for the first appointment. And you never called to cancel." Mike explains.

Scott just shrugs and plays with his hands.

"I don't want to see anyone but you." Scott says.

"We've discussed why that won't work. Which brings me to my next question. We're very grateful to you, Scott, for how you helped my family. But you need to explain, here and now, what you were doing in this house at the time of the break-in." Mike says.

Scott sighs and looks up to Mike.

"The truth is, I was just, like, hanging around outside, and I was...I was throwing pebbles at his window. But he blew me off. And then I noticed that the door was unlocked, so I...went inside. It's not cool, I know." Scott explains.

"I understand, but this is why I can't treat you. It's inappropriate for everyone concerned." Mike says.

Scott starts to breakdown crying into his hands begging for Mike to help him. He's his only hope.

"I really need your help. I don't want to be like this. I want to be a good person. And I know that you can help me. You're the one, okay? You're the only one that I can trust." Scott says in tears.

Scott continues to cry, while Mike tries to think of a way to treat him still just not in this house.

"I cannot see you in this house." Mike says.

He looks down at his note pad on his lap and writes down a place where he and Scott could meet regularly a couple times a week starting on Halloween.

Scott crying and wipes his eyes with his long sleeve shirt as he looks up Mike.

"Now, look, I have an opening. I'll meet you someplace for coffee. But you have to promise-'

"I promise you! Promise. No more weird shit, okay?" Scott says quickly.

Mike sighs and hands Scott the piece of paper with an address on it.

"This is your control panel. It operates one of the fifteen window and door sensors. Okay? You're also gonna get this infrared motion detector. It goes in your foyer. This is your panic button. Okay, I'm gonna hide one of these in your nightstand, probably put one in your kitchen somewhere. Now, if something goes bump in the night, you hit this button, and I'm on my way. All right?" Todrick asks as he explains everything about the security system to Nel.

She nods and gives him a small smile and looks at everything he has laid out on the counter.

"Now, given what you've gone through lately I'm expecting some false alarms, so...don't be shy." He says with a smile.

"All right, if you say so." Nel says.

"Oh, I do." He says.

He sighs and looks at Nel for any questions she might have on all of this stuff laid out in front of her.

"Questions?"

I'm sure I have a hundred questions, but...I can't think of anything right now. I mean, the system in this house is so..."

"Uh, yeah, it's from the Reagan era."

"Yeah."

They both laugh and he started to explain more about the system.

"Now, you know, if your power goes out or someone cuts your phone line, or something like that..."

"Yeah, we would be in so much trouble." Nel interrupts.

"Yeah, uh, exactly."

Todrick looks at Nel with a smile and continues to look deep into her eyes causing Nel to blush.
