Angelica stands in the kitchen drying the dishes while Nel is on the phone with the hospital.

"She's a nurse in your department. I think her name is Angie something. She fainted during an ultrasound."

"Right. She's an ultrasound technician."

"So she quit? Would you ask her to call me, then?"

"Nel Grassi."

Just then Connie comes in through the backdoor with a plate in her hand.

Connie looks at Angelica as she gives Connie the side eyes.

"Okay, thank you." Nel says hanging up the phone.

"Hi, Connie. I'm so sorry about Nicole. I've been meaning to make a condolence call, and I've just been-"

Connie holds up her hand and gives her a soft look as she sets the plate down on the island in the middle of the kitchen.

"Angelica tells me that you've been suffering terribly. That every time you leave the house, you're racked with violent morning sickness?" Connie asks.

"Yeah." Nel says softly.

"Well, you know, my mother always recommended a big platter of offal during the first trimester of pregnancy. She preferred pork." Connie explains.

"Oh, well, how nice of you to think of me during this-"

Connie laughs.

"I believe life is for the living, don't you?" Connie asks as she opens of the small meat package on the plate.

Nel just stares at it as Connie continues to unwrap it with a disgusted look on her face.

"Now these two are thymus glands, one from the heart, one from the throat. And this is the pancreas. It's so good for mother and child. Full of protein, vitamin C, all the B vitamins and iron and...Speaking of which, how is your other baby?" Connie says.

Nel nods her head as to let Connie knows that she's doing good.

"He was such a dear, sweet child and such a comfort to me when Nikki passed." Connie says.

"Well, he's been very upset. Spending a lot of time in his room." Nel explains.

"Sometimes children going through transition just need alone time." Connie says.

"Well, I, um, can't thank you enough for the 'off-al'."

"Offal." Connie says correcting Nel.

Connie then turns to Angelica and hands her the plate of cow organs.

"Angelica, why don't you saute these for Mrs.Grassi's lunch? Do them the way that you used to do them for me, remember? With sweet butter." Connie says turning towards Nel with a smile.

"I'd be happy to do that, for Mrs.Grassi." Angelica says.

Nel laughs nervously and looks back and forth between the two.

Connie goes to walk out the backdoor, but turns back around really quick pointing at Connie.

"We need that baby." Connie chuckles.

Nel gives her a small smile.

"We need another...sweet child around here."

**

Angelica stands in the kitchen cooking up the organs, per Connie's request, for Nel to eat for the baby.

Nel just watches her and smile at such a sweet woman she is with cooking for her and helping around the house since they moved in.
