I Never Knew

Chapter 4

Evan and Dad walked into the kitchen and sat at the table across from mom and I. "So do you think i'm a freak now?" Evan asked 

I looked up from my hands, which I had been peeling the black nail polish off of my nails "No" I said bluntly "It's just kinda weird, ya know?" Evan nodded. "How come I never knew until now?" I asked when no one said anything, looking at each of them starting with Evan and ending with my mom.

It was my mom who spoke first "We didn't want to tell you because we weren't sure if you would be able to shift--" 

My dad cut her off "Look, I know this is a lot to take in. I am full Werewolf unlike, your mother who is human, I can shift just like Evan. The reason Evan went to live with me was because there was a bigger possibility of him being able to shift because he's a male. And we were right, most full werewolf's can shift at the age of 16 and Evan did, because your mother is human she wouldn't have known what to do in Evan's change and how to help him, which is why he's lived with me. Of course now he doesn't need my help much anymore he just chose to live with me." I looked over at Evan and I guess he read my mind telling him I wanted an explanation as to why he had stayed with dad. I mean Evan and I never were as close as most sibling would or should be but him living with dad had alot to do with it nevertheless I missed him...at times.

"I chose to stay with dad because since most werewolf's live north and every shifter should be in pack our's being in Wisconsin I chose to stay" Well short explanation. The three of them continued to explain to me just about everything about werewolf's. I was even surprised mom knew as much as she did for being a human, but well she was married to a werewolf for like 20 years.

"I still don't know why this has anything to do with me going to live with you guys. If I was going to change it would've happened since i'll be 17 in a couple months" I said mainly to my dad and Evan.

"Well there's a possibility you may change, females usually  shift by the age of 18, which is why we decided you are to come live with us" My dad said "If you were to change Evan and I both would be there and we would be able to help you through your change"

I was starting to get frustrated. I hated being lied to and the fact they lied to me about why I was going to live with dad and Evan turned my frustration into anger. "Why couldn't you guys just tell me!" I yelled throwing my hands up in the air "What if i had turned into a freakin' dog when I turned 16 huh?" At this point I think the fact that I was moving to another state was finally getting to me because i had been so calm about it and the fact they laid all this on me at the same time pissed me off even more. "You don't even know if i can or will change! What if i dont--" I stopped mid sentence "Wait...you said before or until 18 does that mean i'd live with you and Evan for like two years--"

"Give or take" Evan cut in 

"What is that supposed to mean?" I asked in a hiss

"You're not just moving with us becuase you might change, you were suspended remember" my dad said raising an eyebrow. Oh now they're saying it's because of my suspension.

"Ohhh" I let that linger on longer than usual just to exagerate a bit "So is it because of my suspension or because I just might possibly turn into a dog in the next year or two?" I asked

"Both" Dad said

I will try to update as much as possible now that school is almost over. Also i may be changing the cover and possibly the title of the book. I will let everyone know in the next chapter what the name will be if i decide to change it.
