The drive felt like forever! Dad drove the first few hours until it started to get dark then Evan drove throughout the night while dad rested in the back seat. I was awake the whole night while Evan drove I was trying to keep him company but mainly because I had slept all day. We were both silent with just the radio lowly playing.
"So..." I began "What's it like?" I asked
"What's what like?" Evan asked turning to look at me
I shrugged "Everything. The town, the people, the weather. Just Everything" I said
Evan sighed "Well" He began but stayed quiet "Hmm, you know I think you should just wait and see for yourself" He finally said. I glared at him and turned to look out the window.
"Ookay then how long until we get there?" I asked
"Well it's about a 20 hour drive and we left at 10 this morning it is now 10:30, so about 7 hours to go" he said. So 10:30 plus 7 hours that means we'll be there around... I guess Evan could tell I was doing or trying to math in my head because he spoke again "We'll be there around 5 or 6 Camila" He said rolling his eyes.
"I know, I can do math" I Lied. We continued driving, well Evan did the rest of the night at least that I can remember until I fell asleep. I was woken up by dad and Evan talking to eachother something about stopping to rest or a rest stop, i'm not sure. I yawned and streched out on the seat.
"Morning sweetie" dad said he was once again driving. I guess I was out cold because apparently we stopped sometime during the night.
"When did we stop?" I asked.
"Two, three hours ago" dad answered. I nodded.
"Are you hungry? Evan and I were debating wether or not to stop and get some food. We're only about an hour away." dad said
"I'm not that hungry" I answered.
"Well I am" Evan said
"Alright, we'll stop at a McDonalds to get you something to eat" Dad said to Evan. We drove another 10 15 minutes until we came across a McDonalds.
Evan got off the truck I rolled down my window "Bring me an Orange Juice" I yelled at him. He turned and looked at "Pleaseee" I said with a smile. He rolled his eyes and kept walking.
Evan came back and we were driving once again. While we drove there was nothing but fields. Once in a while there would be one house with a barn and some cows outside but that was very rare.
It was now 6am and the sun was just coming up. While we were driving I saw a sign that said 'Welcome to Silver Cliff'
"We're here" Dad said. I sighed well the end of my life is now officially begining.
This town was dead! There were no tall buildings, no clubs, no restraunts, nothing. All I saw as we drove was a small Library, a diner, a gas station although what there seem to be quite a few of were grocery stores and there was a believe it or not McDonalds and a Walgreens. I guess i'll be spending a lot of time at Walgreens.
We drove passing houses the rest of the way. Finally dad pulled into a long drive way of gravel, gravel it wasnt even cement the only things that were of cement were the main roads and the parking lots of some businesses.
As we drove further and further into the drive way a house came into view. It was a one story house of brick. It was plain but it was nice. Can't wait to see the inside, I bet it's a complete guy house. Dad parked the truck in front of the closed garage door and they got out. I took a deep breath and opened the door I walked back to were dad and Evan were taking all my luggage out from the back of the truck.
