jae eun picked up the cartridge case from the salesperson's hands.
"dear boyfriend?"
she handed the case back and shook her head.
"i don't think i need this."
jae eun returned home empty-handed. actually, she was out searching for a game to entertain herself but it seems that those efforts were in vain.
maybe today was just not her day.
she rested on her tummy on her bed and went through her phone. a notification popped up.
ye seul: hey girl! what have you been up to?
jae eun: not much. i'm actually trying to entertain myself but to no avail.
ye seul: check out 'dear boyfriend'! i've been obsessed with it!
jae eun: is it really that good?
ye seul: my boyfriend dumped me because i was smittened by the male lead in the game. what do you think? search up online comments if you don't believe me.

jae eun clicked on google and typed in 'dear boyfriend reviews'. there were so many players of the game and yet she was the only one who was kept in the dark. she never heard anyone talk about it before though.
ninety percent were positive reviews with five stars.
she felt a rush in her adrenaline system and so, she made her way down to where she just returned from.
"hey. i'm back for the game you introduced to me earlier on." "sorry it's out of stock at the moment." "please check your stock. please." "ugh. alright. give me a moment."
the salesperson rolled her eyes at jae eun's impatience.
she exited the storeroom with one final case in her hands.
"there you go. the last one." "thank you."
jae eun paid for it and decided to head to the nearby convenience store to get some ramen as a side while she's playing the game.
when she was home, she took no time in going to the kitchen and boiling some water for her dinner. she went over to her gameroom and turned on the computer.
she clicked on the 'eject' button and the disc tray slid out towards her. she unwrapped the case and gently took out the disc from its packaging, then placing it on the tray. she pressed the same button again.
the loading ring displayed on her screen, whilst she was in the kitchen downstairs, fetching her boiling ramen.
