three of them were already cruising through the school, attracting the attention of the majority. maybe because jae eun looked so out-of-place with the rest of them, keeping in mind that they were the perfect elites from prestigious backgrounds. they emit a certain aura that makes them different from the rest.
she would have never thought to actually be at the academy that she only saw through a video game.
"wait here. we'll go and get food for you."
they were at the cafeteria, with almost the entire population of the school gathered around them. jae eun was not even spared a single second without any attention or eye contact from the other students.
"oh hey new girl! where did your two bodyguards go?"
"would you just do the world a favour and leave me alone?"this was when jae eun felt a strong grip around her wrist before she was yanked up from her seat.
"look bitchface. give me the bracelet and i'll leave you alone."
she tried to look around her surroundings for help and for the two guys, but to no avail. others were just like audience watching a live movie. they were only lacking the popcorn. the amused looks on their faces were enough to make jae eun want to slap it off.
some murmurs were heard from several different corners, all of which were directed at her bracelet. it seems like the holy accessory hanging around her wrist was the talk of the town and it piqued the interest of many.
what the hell does this bracelet do anyway?
"give me it or you're giving up your entire arm."
there was a hint of a pocket knife hidden with one of his followers. from a distance, jae eun could see the two guys she was waiting for happily chatting while making their way over here. her mind had prayed that if they only walked a little faster, she would not be holding onto the knife stuck to her right shoulder.
"hurry up. just get it and go."
it was like a silent murder. no one around had noticed the blood trickling down the side of her arm as she attempted to keep her two feet on the ground.
the pain was unbearable and tears were welling up in her eyes.
"guys?"
it came out as a whisper as she could only look at those bastards making their escape with her bracelet. she so wanted to remove the knife, but she felt like it had grown roots and permanently implanted itself onto her body.
this was when her knees gave up on her and she collapsed, still conscious. all she could see were two pairs of shoes standing right in front of her, before the fall of two trays and constant shaking of her body.
"stay with me jae eun."
she could make out jihoon's face but it was getting more blurry by the second.
"jihoon?"
"yes i'm right here."
"the bracelet."she could only force out those last words before her world turned black.
