the birds were chirping to their hearts' content as the sun had risen from its slumber once again. the digital alarm clock now marks the time when it has to ring.
"ugh not again."
in all honesty, jae eun was starting to detest her job. it was so boring and the only visitor that held a two-way communication was woojin. she could sit there and stare into empty space for hours. well, at least she thought it had been hours but only fifteen minutes had gone by.
but this was her only escape. escape for her to not think about silly things. to not make assumptions on why he had left. her questions for his disappearance were shoved to the back of her head whenever she was at work. however, judging by the rate that time passes at her job, it would be unavoidable for the questions to surface back.
obviously, she had better things to care about, like getting her hands on an unreleased gaming console that she had come across while reading an article. again, it was during working hours.
jae eun had attempted to save as much money as she could, to give herself some time off and go on a vacation, but it was all easier said than done. her current paycheck does not provide her with enough for savings.
she would be left with a few coins a month after getting her paycheck. this was the only place she was actually hired in, so she definitely would keep the job.
all this thinking has also brought her two feet to her workplace. a place she holds a mighty grudge on because of poor conditions and even worse, her less-than-sufficient salary.
"oh right. we're expecting woojin today."
for once she had something to look forward to. not that the person coming is woojin, but anyone who enters the main entrance gives her a sense of excitement. but it does not last long as the majority of them usually leave without even acknowledging her presence.
"hi, cute receptionist. i'm back."
she snapped out of her daydream and came back to reality, only to be faced by the one and only woojin.
"hey. good morning."
her words came out more monotonous than she expected, which completely reflects her current mood.
"here's the umbrella."
he placed it right at the mini entrance to the reception table.
"thank you. have a good day."
just as woojin turned around to exit the building after receiving an unenthusiastic response from jae eun, he was stopped just as he stepped foot on the concrete pathway outside the main entrance.
"woojin! i just have a quick question."
jae eun was fidgeting with her fingers as she hesitated on asking the one question that had been floating around her mind ever since she knew of woojin's existence.
"are you the woojin in a video game? and do you know park jihoon?"
