"You aren't going anywhere." Featherstep meowed.

"But-" Smokeystar started.

Featherstep cut her off, "It would be reckless strutting into WaterClan--for StarClan knows why--in your condition."

"Exactly." Acornfall agreed.

"Why would you want to go to WaterClan anyway? Steamstar banished you." Cloudflash asked.

Smokeystar took a deep breath, "While I was unconscious Foxpaw spoke to me. He said Snowleaf planned on attacking WaterClan at moon-high."

"That means..." Acornfall trailed off as she imagined what could happened.

"WaterClan could be destroyed for good." Cloudflash finished for her.

Featherstep got a wistful look in her eyes, "Then you guys only have so much more time."

"We need to go now." Cloudflash replied.

Smokeystar nodded, "I don't want anyone to get hurt though." Her comment seemed to pass through everyone. No one even gave her flick of an ear or tail to even acknowledge they heard her. I feel so appreciated. Smokeystar thought sarcastically.

"I'm bringing Cloudflash, Lilacfrost, and Stripepaw." Acornfall told her.

"But that's so small of a group!" Smokeystar protested.

"I agree with Smokeystar." Featherstep meowed confidently, but Smokeystar could detect the slightest amount of fear hidden in her voice.

Acornfall took a deep breath; probably because it was going to take a bit to explain herself, "I'm taking a small group because I don't want Steamstar or Snowfeather's group to mistake us for a battle patrol."

Smokeystar thought this over. I guess I can see good reasoning behind this. We're only going there to help keep WaterClan from getting demolished. If we go with a huge patrol Steamstar probably would mistake us for a battle patrol.

Smokeystar looked up, "I wouldn't have thought of this on my own. Thank you Acornfall."

"Well, StarClan did trust you with the leadership of a clan, even at your young age. They must have picked you for a reason." Acornfall assured her.

"That's sweet, but I don't see what's so special about me." Smokeystar insisted.

Acornfall shook her head slightly, "You may not see it, but everyone else here does. Isn't that right?"

Smokeystar glanced at everyone in the room. It was mostly the cats who she had known the longest, but they were nodding. This made her smile.

"Well, then I trust you to save WaterClan. Even if I can't go myself, I know you all will try your best." Smokeystar had gave in. At least now she knew that she could trust her new clan. Perhaps it was better that Smokeystar stayed. If she did it was possible WaterClan would get the wrong message. She was banned after all.

"Quieter, we're approaching WaterClan." Acornfall signaled to the rest of the patrol. Although it was not necessary to be quiet, Acornfall wanted to make sure that Snowfeather's group didn't notice them before they could aid WaterClan.

Cloudflash look up at the moon, "We need to hurry. It's almost moon-high."

"Wow! It's my first battle. This is so exciting!" Stripepaw squealed with excitement. Her couldn't help it, what apprentice wouldn't be excited about their first battle?

Lilacfrost gave Stripepaw a warning glare, "I know your excited, and I was too at your age, but you have to remember we will lose the element of surprise if we're too loud."

Stripepaw nodded eagerly, "He seemed unaffected by his mentor's scolding, but it was obvious he toned down how much he expressed his excitement."

Finally, the WaterClan camp came into view. It reeked of fish and WaterClan scent. As soon as the SmokeClan warriors stepped into camp, their scent was detected. The cat on watch alerted the camp and streams of cats filed out of their dens.

"What is your business here? And why do you all smell like your from one clan, but you don't smell like any other clan?" Steamstar asked irratibly.

Acornfall's voice rang across the camp "My name is Acornfall and these are my companions Cloudflash, Lilacfrost, and Stripepaw. We are from SmokeClan!"

Waves of murmers and low whispered echoed rapidly. Cloudflash even caught a few 'What is WaterClan?' and 'There is no WaterClan.'

"What are you talking about? What is WaterClan?" Steamstar questioned.

"We don't have time to explain. Just know that we have been sent to help you defeat the possible attack on your clan tonight." Acornfall explained quickly.

"Wh-" Steamstar was cut off by a sudden battle cry. A flood of strange cats filled the clearing and started fighting any cat they could lay their paws on.

Cloudflash swiped and clawed whoever came at him. I must survive this. I have to survive this. A couple tail lengths away a WaterClan apprentice was struggling to defend herself from a brutal rouge. That is an unfair fight! Cloudflash gave his current opponent one last blow before rushing to help the apprentice.

"Now who might you be?" The rouge growled hatefully.

"The one who is justifying this unfair fight between and apprentice and whatever you are." Cloudflash replied.

"I am a warrior!" The rouge lashed a paw at Cloudflash's face.

Cloudflash snarled in reply, "You will never be a warrior. You will always be known as a rouge." Cloudflash jumped and landed on the rouge's back. The apprentice finally made her moved. She raked her claws across the rouge's face.

"That was for earlier." She spat.

Cloudflash let his guard down for a second, only to  be thrown off by the rouge.

"I will not be defeated by an apprentice and a mediocre warrior!" He roared instantly, jumping onto the apprentice and pinning her down. He aimed for her neck.

Time seemed to slow. The only thing Cloudflash could think of was crazy, but it might just be crazy enough to work. He hesitated for a second. Is this a good idea?

He had no more time to contemplate the matter. Cloudflash slammed his body into the rouge, a weak attempt to knock him off of her. The rouge barely budged, but it was enough to make him forget about killing the apprentice. The apprentice took this opportunity to run to safety.

However, the same escape would not be possible for Cloudflash, for slamming himself into the rouge took a hard toll on his body. The rouge approached Cloudflash with a large smirk.

"Looks like today you'll be joining StarClan." The rouge declared. He slowly inched his way to hosting neck, and slowly sank his teeth in it.

Is that a cliff hanger? Yes it is! And I'm not going to tell you what will happen next because I'm evil. Sorry I'm not sorry!
