Acornfall's leave was brief. She came back without even a scratch. Suspicious, to say the least. But not even the realization of this bothered Smokeystar. She was young and naive.

Featherstep, however, was not pleased. Her expectations had not been met and was now realizing something suspicious was going on. Now aware that she had not been told the truth, she intended to get some answers. On the other paw, she was willing to wait. If she waited, this would show if Acornfall was a trustworthy cat.

While Acornfall was gone, Cloudflash had returned. Although Smokeystar was worried about his injuries, he would be fine.

Featherstep glanced at the two. There was definitely a spark between them. In their eyes was a fierce passion. You know you have to give up being leader if you pursue him, Smokeystar. Featherstep pondered this in her mind, wondering if she would follow this route.

Smokeystar looked up at Acornfall, "What did Oakstripe need you for?"

Acornfall quickly averted her eyes, sometimes a sign of anxiety, "He asked me about a tragic event."

Featherstep narrowed her eyes, you're smooth, Acornfall. Smokeystar smiled, content with the answer given to her.

"What's our plan, now?" Cloudflash asked.

"I haven't really thought about it. Any ideas, Acornfall?" Smokeystar replied.

Acornfall shook her head, "I haven't thought about it either."

"Well, we definitely need to think of a battle plan. For example, what do we think Snowleaf is going to do next?" Featherstep contributed.

This reminded Smokeystar of the prophecy her brother gave her. Remorse suddenly filled her. He could have lived a long successful life, if it weren't for me.

Smoke will fill the sky and 4 must become 5 to destroy the snow on a simple leaf.

It's amazing how this one prophecy changed her entire life. Yet, the prophecy had not been completed. What could be left?

"I say we attack Snowleaf before she can attack us." Smokeystar suggested. It was a bold suggestion.

All of their gazes turned to her, "Why do you suggest that?" Acornfall asked.

"Well, obviously we should be prepared, but if we wait for her she has the advantage. She could attack at any time." Smokeystar explained.

Featherstep nodded her head in agreement, "I say we attack on the night when the moon no longer shines."

"That's outrageous! We can't attack in 3 moon rises!" Acornfall exclaimed.

Cloudflash reasoned with her, "The longer we wait, the better the chance of Snowleaf attacking us first."

"Plus we'll have the cover of darkness. Snowleaf will never see it coming!" Smokeystar was determined. She had her heart set on this.

Acornfall sighed, "Well, if you guys think we should..." Secretly, Acornfall knew this was a risky, but great plan. However, she wasn't prepared for Snowleaf to tell them the story. And the real reason Smokeystar got caught into all of this nonsense.

"We better tell everyone." Cloudflash meowed.

"Lets start training now." Smokeystar said.

Acornfall looked at her in confusion, "Why? It's almost night?"

"We only have 3 moon rises."

The cover of darkness hid their presence as they traveled to WaterClan. However, their scent could still be detected and PineClan warriors caught them on their territory.

"What are you doing here?" An amber eyed cat growled.

"We mean no harm to your clan." Acornfall calmly replied.

The same cat responded, "Yet you have a full battle patrol."

This time Smokeystar contributed, "We are attacking WaterClan."

"Why would you tell them that?" Cloudflash questioned.

"We have to tell them the truth if we wish to pass." Smokeystar explained.

Surprisingly, Greystar emerged from the shadows, "Let us come with you."

The SmokeClan warriors got defensive, "Why?" Featherstep asked.

"I have reason to suspect something suspect WaterClan is under treacherous rule." Greystar simply explained. Of course, the leaders aren't mouse-brains. They would eventually notice something suspicious was going on.

"Alright. Follow us." Smokeystar agreed.

The small patrol of PineClan warriors followed SmokeClan without question. This is what Greystar truly wanted to do.

They was a small hill that had a sharp drop. The battle patrol stood on top of the hill while Smokeystar stood at the foot of it.

Starlight swirled around the warriors and suddenly Smokeystar was filled with a sense of power. Above her, all she could she were SmokeClan warriors. Not a single piece of sky was visible among them.

Smoke will fill the sky...

Shock filled her veins at the realization. The prophecy is almost complete.

"Do you feel that?" Smokeystar asked them.

"The prophecy..." Cloudflash responded.

"Surround the camp in pairs. We'll ambush them." Smokeystar ordered.

The warriors leapt off of the hill and went to find spots to hide. Everyone made sure to stay downwind, so that their scent was not detected.

Cloudflash landed next to Smokeystar, "We can die together!" He joked.

Smokeystar playfully clawed him, "Now is not the time to make jokes like that!" She scolded.

Shaking he head, she made sure everyone was in a hiding spot. She was about to give the signal when Steamstar and Snowleaf stepped into the clearing.

"Come down here Acornfall!" Steamstar called ferociously. Then she looked I Smokeystar and Cloudflash's hiding spot, "And both of you too."

Smokeystar nervously glanced at Cloudflash before hopping down. Cloudflash followed her suite. Acornfall was already there.

"How dare yoh return here without her head!" Snowleaf shouted.

Acornfall flattened her ears, "I would never."

"Then you shall suffer the consequences."

"You want to know why you were driven to kill Foxpaw, well now you can know. Everyone in this ambush will hear it." Steamstar started.

"Please, don't!" Acornfall pleaded.

Featherstep appeared beside her, "I knew there was something going on. It just didn't add up."

"It all started a couple moons before you were born..."
