Chapter 19
🚫🦄💧*

Featherstep had Smokeystar walk a few laps around their small camp. It was good to exercise anything sore. Besides, Smokeystar yearned to be outside.

However, in the middle of walking everything turned dark and suddenly she was in a dark forest with Snowleaf and Frogpatch. She tried to move, but she couldn't. She looked down, what she saw completely surprised her. This is not my body!

"I need you to go to SmokeClan and join their clan..." Snowleaf said more, but it all became a blur and eventually Smokeystar found herself back in her clan.

"Acornfall!" She called frantically.

Acornfall and Featherstep stopped what they were doing. Although Smokeystar had called for Acornfall, Smokeystar was Featherstep's patient and naturally she'd want to known if something was wrong.

"What's wrong?" Acornfall asked.

"I think I saw a vision! I wasn't in my own body and I heard Snowleaf say she needed someone to join our clan." Smokeystar explained as best as she could.

Featherstep's whiskers twitched, "That could have been the past and they're already here."

"Good point, we need to be as careful as possible." Acornfall supported her.

"I see what you're saying, but wouldn't the cat have come individually. I mean, everyone that has joined our clan came from a group of cats from another clan." Smokeystar pointed out.

"You speak as though you are wiser than your own age." Acornfall complemented.

"Well, then what do you suppose we do?" Featherstep questioned.

"I say we wait for whoever is coming to come to us." Smokeystar answered.

"I suppose we could do that, but the max I'm waiting is one moon. Then we search our clanmates." Acornfall had set conditions. This was the best Smokeystar could get out of her.

Featherstep spoke with authority, "Then that is what I agree to do. For now, Smokeystar I suggest resting. Your shoulder hasn't completely healed and you need rest if you want to get better."

Smokeystar dipped her head, "You're the Medicine Cat."

Featherstep said no more as she led Smokeystar back into her den. Though it didn't seem like it, Featherstep was worried about what would happen. However, in the corner of Smokeystar's eye she saw a flash of fur.

"Featherstep!" Smokeystar alerted her.

She paused, "What's wrong?"

"I think someone's in our camp."

Featherstep looked behind them. Standing confidently in the clearing was Oakstripe.

"May I talk to Acornfall?" He asked politely, unusual given the circumstances.

"I'm right here." She announced, then looking at Smokeystar and Featherstep she continued, "And anything you say to me can be said in front of everyone."

Oakstripe narrowed his eyes ever-so-slighty, you only would have noticed if you were paying extra attention, "Private matters concerning your personal life. Unless of course, you want everyone here to know your secrets." Featherstep looked at Acornfall, giving her a confused expression.

Acornfall nonchalantly rolled her eyes at the comment, then proceeding to walk away from the group, "Fine. But, this better be worth my time." Oakstripe followed suite.

"What do you think that was about?" Smokeystar asked.

Featherstep pondered the question for a bit, "Perhaps Oakstripe and Acornfall have some sort of history with each other. Like a tragic event."

Smokeystar nodded in agreement, "Fair point."

Lilacfrost had returned from the battle not long before Acornfall came too. They didn't give much information on Cloudflash, just that he'd be coming a little bit later.

After a while, Acornfall returned with Oakstripe. He had a mischevious smile curled on his lips. Acornfall, however, was far from that expression. She had a look of dread plastered in her eyes. Her expression showed only sorrow and regret. Though Smokeystar was clueless, she guessed Acornfall needed to do something really important.

"I-I, have to do something important. I've put it off for a long time now and it's time to do it. I'll try to be back before Snowleaf attacks again." Acornfall mustered a small smile. Almost as if she was saying goodbye for a long time.

Smokeystar nodded her head, "I won't stop you from what you need to do."

"Nor will I. Farewell, Acornfall." Featherstep chipped in.

"Thank you, Smokeystar, Acornfall. We'll be leaving now." Oakstripe cut in, stopping anymore communication between them. This didn't stop Smokeystar from catching a glint of malicion shimmering in his eyes for a brief moment.

And just like that, they were gone. With the sun now setting, the air was getting cooler. Slowly, more dew glistened serenely on the grass. Vibrant shades of pink, orange, and red painted the sky like a canvas. The day was over. And Smokeystar could only hope that Acornfall would be okay.

Unknown's point of view

Acornfall was thrusted into the forest. Right in the heart where Snowleaf was plotting. Frogpatch and I stood silently in the shadows of darkness, anticipating what was to come.

Snowleaf emerged, circling Acornfall, "I've been waiting a long time for this." Snowleaf snarled.

"I'm sure you have." Acornfall sounded confident, though her shaking body said otherwise.

"Do you remember the deal we made, all those moons ago?" She questioned.

"Vividly." Acornfall responded.

"You promised me that you would keep my secret about killing my mate."

"If you took revenge on Steamstar."

"Just because she exiled your father doesn't mean you have to hold a grudge on her."

"Aren't you forgetting that my father was your mate?"

"Aren't you forgetting Cloudflash doesn't even know he was born a rogue?"

"I am aware. But Snowleaf, this attack against Smokeystar needs to stop. She did nothing to you."

Snowleaf bared her teeth, "Smokeystar deserves this. I should have been the cat in the prophecy."

"The prophecy is not complete. But once it is, you will not be able to stop her. You will become nothing but a simple leaf." Acornfall countered.

She changed the subject, "Smokeystar is not why I brought you here."

"Yet she's still in the middle of everything."

"You did not keep to your end of the deal." Snowleaf said, ignoring Acornfall's comment. "That's one of reasons why I brought you here."

"And the other reason?"

"I want you to repay your debt." Snowleaf clarified.

Acornfall widened her eyes, "What do do you mean?"

Snowleaf twitched her tail in impatience, "You didn't keep your end of the deal, so it's only fair that you repay me."

"And just how do you want me to do that?" Acornfall asked.

"I want you to kill Smokeystar."

"Or what?"

"Not only will I kill her for you, I'll expose the truth about everything."

Acornfall paused, "You mean the entire story?"

"From the schemes to the lies."

Oh, there actually is an explanation to this nonsense? Hope you liked this chapter! It took me a long time to figure it all out.

*No unicorn tears.

Until then...
