Bricktown Beast

Chapter 3

Sam and Sara arrive at a big old gray church with big brown doors that have pentagrams carved into them. It's now night time and the moonlight is shining down on the church. There is only the sound of the girls' echoing throughout the atmosphere as well as the dead leaves rushing on the ground. There is a strong smell of swamps and pine trees filling the air. It is cold outside and there is a calm breeze whistling through the trees. The ground in front of the church is dirt and dead pine needles and behind the church is nothing but woods.

Sam gets out of the car and looks at the church, "Ok, here's the church lets go home now."

Sara jumps out of the car and runs up the steps to the church doors, "Come on we drove all that time we can at least peek inside."

Sam goes back into the car, "It's probably no different than the abandoned animal hospital!"

"Well duh, it was an animal hospital, not a church like this!"

Sam sees Sara still standing at the doors so she goes up to the doors to open them and they don't open, "Oops it won't open, time to go home." Sara pulls hard and opens one of the doors and runs inside, "Damn it Sara!" Sam then follows her into the church.

Inside the church has graffiti all over the walls, three of the seven deadly sins on one side and another three on the other side and the seventh sin, Pride in the front of the church under a big cross. The ceiling has a painting of Lucifer with six other demons circling him, each of the demons has different color eyes, but they all look like Lucifer.

"Wow this place is spooky, spookier than the Westside and smells better too!" replies Sara as she walks down the aisle.

Sam looks around and sees cobwebs all over the pews and what looks to be blood stains on the floor, "Wow this place is pretty creepy."

Sara walks up to the altar, where there is a pentagram on the floor that says 'Lucifer' under it and Sam follows her, "I wonder if anyone got married here?"

"Well whoever did they are probably dead now." Sam sees some old books lying by the altar so she picks them up and blows off the dust and reads them off, "Sloth, Greed, Envy, Gluttony, Wrath." She pauses and reads the final one off, "and Lust."

Sara sees Sam looking at the books and her jaw drops, "Each of those books are supposed to raise a demon to kill what ever sin someone commits, but NEVER raise ANY of them, because if they become powerful enough they will combine into Lucifer, demon of Pride, also known as the New Jersey Devil!"

Sam looks at Sara like she's crazy, "Ok, Sara, I'm sure some weirdo put these here and made that stuff up to scare people, also wasn't the New Jersey Devil born to that Jane Leeds chick and isn't he supposed to be still haunting the Pine Barrens?"

Sara runs up to Sam and panics, "Yeah, but you never know, anything could be possible, so we should probably destroy those books." She goes to grab the books, but Sam turns away, so she fails to grab any of them from her.

Sam walks around the church with them, "Yeah and people claim they see him, just like they claim to see UFOs and what about the time we went to the 'Gates of Hell' and all it was, was a sewer." She then continues to look through the books.

Sara is still trying to get the books, but Sam keeps walking away, "Yeah, but there was a hobo, he was scary! Now can I see those books, please?"

Sam hugs the books and gets mad, "Wait, Sara let me look at them first!" She looks through the book titled "Lust" and as she reads through it the cross on the wall falls upside down, scaring Sara, "Well if demon of Lust kills lustful people then, he would kill Daniella and Josh would be mine, well it's worth a shot." She puts the other books down and starts to walk out of the church.

Sara sees Sam smiling and put the other books down, "NO SAM DON'T!" She runs after Sam as she walks out of the church to pull the book out of her hand, "SAM DON'T HE'LL KILL ALL LUSTFUL PEOPLE NOT JUST DANIELLA!"

Sam knocks over Sara and runs to her car, "I need to kill that slut!" Sara gets back up and tries to stop her, but she trips over the church stairs and Sam drives off leaving her there alone.

Sara gets back up and shakes her fist at Sam, "Fine leave me here, you'll be sorry, when you raise that demon!" She runs back in the Church and picks up the other five books, "What's the point Lucifer's pieces' probably memorize it!" She throws the books down and walks back outside and gets on her cell phone.

A woman answers the phone, "Nicole Carter's cell phone, how may I help you?"

"Hey my friend dumped me here at the church, can you pick me up?"

"Why are you at a church on a Friday night?"

"Who cares why I'm here, just pick me up, I'm in the Pine Barrens!"

"Are you looking for those so called demon 'books' by any chance?"

"Yes, I found them and Sam got one of them and she's going to raise the demon Asmodeus."

"What do we do have to like stop her?"

"No, by the time you pick me up and we drive to her house it'll be too late!"

"Ok then, I'll just pick you then."

"Alright, just make it quick, because it's cold and I don't want to go back into the church." Sara puts her phone away. "Oh Sam, why did I take you with me?"
