Bricktown Beast

Chapter 19: March 20 -Tuesday

Sam is at Brick Beach by herself sitting in the sand looking out into the ocean. The beach is small and there is a wooden walkway on the beach that leads to the parking lot. It is a cold spring day and the sky is cloudy with a few rain drops falling onto Sam's face. The only sounds are the waves crashing into the shore and the warm air from the ocean blowing the thick sand around.

There is a snack stand that is on a deck with wooden railing surrounding it and stairs that lead to the beach with a roof for shade as well as picnic tables to eat on. The snack stand is between the beach and the parking lot, since the weather is still cold the snack stand is empty. The parking lot only has Sam's car in it.

Sam is playing with the sand and all the sudden she feels a hand touch her shoulder so she screams and throws sand at the person behind her.

"Ow Sam!" shouts the person.

Sam turns around and sees it's Sara, "Sorry Sara, you scared the hell out of me!"

Sara rubs the sand out of her eyes, "Sorry I scared you, but we need to talk."

Sam looks back down at the sand, "I came here to be alone, how'd you find me?"

"You left an away message saying you were going to go to Brick Beach."

"I should have listened to my father when he would say to never tell people where you were on the internet."

"I know you want to be alone, but I need to talk to you."

Sam looks to Sara, "Can't it wait, I need alone time."

"No, it's about Asmodeus."

Sam rolls her eyes, "Who cares, you know I don't like to be reminded that I pretty much doomed society!"

"Remember when we went to the Westside Tavern?"

"That's another thing I don't want to be reminded of, that smelly old tavern."

"Well you know how I told you my ancestors owned it right?"

"Yes and people claim that their ghosts haunt the tavern or something."

"Remember when we got kicked out, because I broke into their attic and tore it apart?"

"Yes I can't forget that, I was so embarrassed!"

"I did that, because I was looking for the books we found in the church, I wanted to destroy them before they got into the wrong hands."

Sam gets up and looks down at Sara, "Why would the books be in the Westside Tavern!?"

"Like I said my ancestors in the 1800s owned the Westside Tavern, but back then it was just a house, those people being Elsie and Louis Carter." Sara gets up, "This story I'm about to tell you has been passed down through my family for generations; Louis went onto a sea voyage and they found a young boy laying on the raft so they brought him onto the ship and he said his name was Lucifer. Lucifer wound up killing the Captain of the ship, John Minturn and Louis got knocked out and woke up in his bed the next day."

"So Lucifer is still around, I'm confused?"

"Let me finish the story. So later on Louis was thought that he had abused his daughter, but Lucifer did, so his daughter who is Elsie hunted down Lucifer and found that he was hanging out in the attic where Elsie's bedroom was."

Sam puts her hand up, "So wait the attic of the Westside Tavern was Elsie's bedroom?"

"Yes it was, so Elsie then splashed a knife with holy water and stabbed Lucifer in the heart, and then he broke into six pieces that turned into six books. I figure since he died there the books would still be there."

"And they weren't, they were in the church instead."

"Yes, but now that one of the demons were awakened, the others can be awoken by the demon without the books."

"So all we have to do is get a knife and splash it with holy water and stab Asmodeus in the heart so he can't awaken the other demons!" Sam says as she runs to her car.

Sara runs up to Sam's car and puts her hand on the driver's door, "It's not that easy, Lucifer also said he would come back more powerful and I tried to stab Asmodeus, but he over powered me."

Sam kicks her car, "Damn it! What do we do now?"

Sara looks up to the sky, "Nothing, just hope and pray Asmodeus doesn't become powerful enough to leave Brick." Sara looks back at Sam, "We need to get everyone out of this town as soon as possible!"

Sam puts her hand on her head, "How would we get everyone out of this town, no body is going to believe a demon is killing all these people and plus today is the first day of spring, so the weather is going to get nicer and that means more people will visit Brick!"

"I don't know how, we have to find a way before the summer comes or even more people will die!"

Sam starts to bang her head on her car, "I should have never raised that damn demon, I should have listened to you and just dated your brother instead, and then all this would have never happened!"

Sara grabs Sam's head to stop her from banging her head more, "Sam, Sam, come on, it's ok!"

Sam pulls Sara's hands off her and shouts, "No it's not ok Asmodeus is going to take over the world!"

Meanwhile out in the distance, Asmodeus is watching Sara and Sam talking to each other in the parking lot as he leans on the wooden rail that surrounds the snack stand.
