Chapter 18: March 19 - Monday

McArthur is reading through all the case files over the past month comparing the information to the information on the New Jersey Devil. He is also looking at Daniella's internet profiles to see if he can find any information on where she might be. Demer walks into his office and sits on his desk.

"You know, I have been looking over all these murders and the disappearance of Daniella Stone for over a month, I don't know about you, but I am really starting to think that who ever this Asmodeus guy is, he's not human." McArthur looks up at Demer.

Demer rolls his eyes, "Come on, really?" Demer gets off the desk and looks McArthur straight into his eyes, "He is not a demon, just because some crazy old dude said the killer is a demon doesn't mean it's true!"

"It was not just a crazy old dude, it was other people too!"

"Who else?"

"Destiny Elvira, Brian Carter and Sara Carter all say that the killer is Asmodeus and that he is the demon of lust."

"Yeah they are all crazy people, this Asmodeus guy is most likely the killer's nickname, he can't be a demon, demons aren't real!" Demer walks out into the lobby and Asmodeus is standing at the front desk as he walks by.

The police station lobby is small and it is attached to city hall. The front desk faces the doors and there are chairs by the door where juveniles would sit waiting for their parents to pick them up from the police station. The adults who got picked up by the police or juveniles who did the really bad crimes would be in the back in a jail cell waiting to get bailed out or to be transferred to ether Ocean County Jail or Trenton State Prison, depending on how bad their crime was.

"You never know Demer, demons could be real." Asmodeus crosses his arms and smirks.

Demer hears Asmodeus talk so he walks up to him, "What, why are you ease dropping on other people's conversation?"

Asmodeus stares into his eyes, "Why are you acting like you know so much about the murders that had been happening in this town?"

Demer sneers at Asmodeus, "I know a lot more than you do wise ass!"

"Yeah sure you do, you haven't even done any research on the case, McArthur has been doing all the work, you just sit around and do nothing, then when a news reporter comes by you take all McArthur's work and claim it as your own!"

Demer grabs Asmodeus's shirt, "That is not true!"

Asmodeus laughs, "Ok, I'm sure it's not true, but tell me did you ever catch a criminal by yourself?"

Demer lets go of Asmodeus and walks away, "I've caught plenty of criminals by myself!"

McArthur walks by Demer and sees Asmodeus standing by the front desk smiling and everyone in the police station are all staring at Demer. "What just happened I heard Demer yelling?"

Demer walks up to McArthur and points at Asmodeus, "That guy right there is being a wise ass, he thinks he knows more than me."

McArthur smiles, "He probably does."

Demer grunts at McArthur and walks back to his office and sits down at his desk, then the people in the police station start laughing. Demer hears the people laughing so he pokes his head out and points to everyone, "You better not laugh or I will arrest you all!"

"Yeah right!" laughs one of the juveniles sitting by the front door.

McArthur is about to go back to his office and he hears a man's voice, "Detective McArthur?"

McArthur turns around, "Yes?"

The man is Mr. Stone and he walks up to McArthur, "Have you found my daughter yet? I heard two more people were killed over the weekend."

"No, we have not Mr. Stone, but we are still looking for her."

"Oh, ok, have you found any more information on where she might be?"

"No, I've been looking at her internet profiles and her cell phone records, there is evidence she's still using her cell phone."

"Can you track her cell phone, I've tried calling her but she hasn't been answering her phone."

"We tracked down her phone to several locations around town, but no luck finding her."

"So you say that she's still in town, what are the locations?"

"Well we have records of her calls." McArthur sees the people looking over at him, "Hey, how about you come into my office, Mr. Stone."

Asmodeus watches as Mr. Stone and McArthur walk into McArthur's office. Asmodeus looks at Daniella's cell phone and walks out of the police station.

Mr. Stone sits down in a chair next to McArthur's desk, "So tell me the locations."

McArthur looks up Daniella's cell phone locations and reads them off, "Well she's made a call to us from the animal hospital." He scrolls through the list more, "She also made a call to a McBlarney residence just recently."

Mr. Stone leans over, "McBlarney? Weren't those the people who discovered two dead teenagers in their bedroom?"

"Yes, the kid, Danny had a party and his parents came home and they discovered dead bodies in the room that's them."

"Can you talk to them, maybe they saw her."

"Well the parents say they got a phone call saying that their son was having a party, so they came home and later discovered the bodies."

"Did they say who called?"

"They said it was some girl, but she hung up when they asked who it was."

"I hope no creep is using my daughter's phone!"

"I am sure she's just playing games."

"Well I read the papers everyday and they say all the murder victims had pentagrams with the word lust under it on them." Mr. Stone gets up, "I have watched the news and I seen some guy claim that Asmodeus the demon of lust is killing all these people, I know it sounds crazy, but I am starting to believe their really is a demon in this town."

McArthur looks up at Mr. Stone, "I think maybe Asmodeus could just be a nickname of the killer."

Mr. Stone starts to walk out, "I don't know who he is, but all I care about right now is finding my daughter."
