Chapter 10

Dawn, one of the female cops, brings the little girl, Destiny into the interrogation room where McArthur is and she sits down at the table. The interrogation room has gray walls and a long gray metal table that has a chair on each side. One side of the room has a one-way window.

Dawn has light blonde hair which she keeps in a bun and light blue eyes. She's in her early twenties and she's an intelligent woman. "Here she is."

Destiny carries a red doll everywhere she goes; she has big nostrils and brown curly hair with brown eyes. Destiny looks at McArthur and speaks softly, "Hello."

"Ok sweetie, tell us what happened."

She holds her doll close, "A man came inside my house and he was scary."

"What did the man do?"

"He told me he killed my mommy because she was lustful, and he said his job is to eat the souls of lustful people."

"I'm sorry about your mommy."

She looks at McArthur with a frown, "Don't be, she never loved me, she always left me and my little sister, Nevaeh home alone, while she partied."

Demer is outside the interrogation room watching them through the window with Dawn standing next to him, "Yeah, then why didn't she have an abortion then?"

"Maybe she wanted attention or welfare? Could be she felt guilty to have an abortion as well." shrugged Dawn.

"Well if she felt so guilty about getting an abortion, then she would feel guilty about abandoned them like that."

"She could be out working to feed them too."

"Then she should hire a babysitter then! She was arrested for prostitution, prostitutes make a lot of money, and she could have afforded a sitter with that money!"

"Yeah, I guess so, you know now that I look at Destiny more she sort of looks like that creep Matt Sexton."

"Maybe he's her father, knowing him I wouldn't doubt he impregnated a young teenage girl."

"I sort of remember him talking about a girl named Julia he met on MySpace back in high school, I graduated a year before him and he also was my first arrest, I remember that day it was in February of 2010 and I arrested him for statutory rape."

"Shouldn't he be in jail then?"

"I think he should, but the girl was 16 years old which is the age of consent plus her dad beat him up and Matt threatened to sue so the charges were dropped."

Back in the interrogation room, Destiny continues with her story, "The man said his name was Asmodeus and he also said he was the Demon of Lust."

Demer tilts his head, "Who the hell names their kid Asmodeus!?"

Dawn shrugs, "Who names their kids Destiny and Nevaeh, think about that."

Demer looks at her, "It's better than Asmodeus!"

Destiny looks at her doll than back at McArthur, "He had dark messy hair and dark eyes; he didn't really look too much like a demon. He also said that he was piece of Lucifer and that Lucifer broke into six pieces."

"You sure he wasn't teasing you?"

Destiny shakes her head, 'He wasn't lying he sounded serious and he said if he consumes enough souls, he will be able to leave Brick and raise the other demons."

"Other demons?"

"Mammon, Leviathan, Beelzebub, Amon, and Belphegor, so they can combine into Lucifer. He says each demon eats a certain sinner's soul."

"What do you mean they each eat a certain sinner?"

"Mammon eats greedy people, Leviathan eats envious people, Beelzebub eats gluttonous people, Amon eats wrathful people, and Belphegor eats slothful people."

McArthur started to take notes on the demons, "So when they all combine into Lucifer, he'll eat greedy, envious, gluttonous, wrathful, slothful and lustful people?"

"And prideful people."

Demer laughs, "So, this Lucifer dude eats everyone who commits one of the seven deadly sins? It sounds to me this killer is imitating the killer from the movie Seven."

Dawn smiles over at him, "I guess he does, better watch out Demer, you're pretty prideful!"

"Shut up!"

McArthur gets up, "Anything else you want to tell me sweetie?"

Destiny grabs his arm and looks into his eyes, "Don't sin, if you want to live."

McArthur walks out of the interrogation room to talk to Demer and Dawn, "This guy she calls Asmodeus seems like he really messed her up."

Demer sighs, "Yeah, she wasn't that much of a help, telling us a demon killed her mom, demons aren't real!"

"He may not be a demon, the suspect claims his name is Asmodeus, it could be a nickname too."

"And what about the other guys, Mammon, Leviathan, Beelzebub, Amon, Belphegor, and Lucifer."

"They could be in some kind of devil worshiping gang and Lucifer maybe is the leader of the gang."

"Well if this guy keeps killing lustful people, then we should catch him before summer comes, because that means the bennies will be coming down and he may go to Seaside Boardwalk, they got all those sex stores, he'll be like a little kid in a candy store hacking up every costumer who goes in there."

Dawn looks at Demer sideways, "The little girl said he can't leave Brick, so how the hell would he go to Seaside Boardwalk? Were you even paying attention to the interrogation?"

"Yes, I was, you know the guy was probably lying to her so like he can like not get caught by cops of other towns."

Dawn laughs, "Ok, like that made any sense."

"Oh be quiet, I'm just thinking of scenarios!" Demer snickered.

Dawn walks away, "I don't know how you ever became a detective."

"I went to Ocean County College for criminal justice, that's how I became a detective!" Demer yells.

"It must be a pretty easy college to graduate from then!" Dawn yells back as she goes outside.

McArthur tugs on Demer shirt, "Come on stop acting like that, this is a very important case here!"

"Hey, she started it!"

"Well I'm ending it!"

"Alright, so back to this case, so a guy named Assholeleus is killing these people?"

"His name is Asmodeus." McArthur looks back at Destiny who is playing with her doll. "You know I think Matt Sexton is this little girl's biological father."

"You think he killed the mother so he wouldn't have to pay child support?"

"DNA samples were run, but Matt's DNA didn't show up anywhere and neither did his fingerprints."

"You know we should run a DNA test on Destiny to see if Matt is her father."

"We can't take DNA if we don't have a warrant, plus it would be a waste since it has nothing to do with this case."

"Oh that stinks, because I wanted to find out if that loser is the father of this kid."

"Well for the little girl's sake I hope he isn't, the guy's a sex offender."

"Yeah, if he is the father, that would mean when Matt was 19 years old he had sex with a 12 year old, YUCK!"

"Knowing that creep, I wouldn't doubt it."
