Chapter 24

McArthur decides to leave his office and as he does he sees Mr. Stone is standing in the lobby. As McArthur is about to approach Mr. Stone, Demer runs into the police station gasping for air, "I found something in the Animal hospital, I was about to tell you what it was, but my phone went dead, this time while it was in the charger!"

"Well that's what happens when you leave your cell phone in the charger, the battery gets damaged."

"Well what I found in the Animal hospital was a naked dead body and guess whose it was."

Mr. Stone starts to cry, "Don't tell me it was Daniella's body!"

Demer sees McArthur shake his head, "It was a girl."

Mr. Stone throws himself on the floor and cries harder, "No, it's Daniella; I know it, my baby, my only baby!"

McArthur kneels next to Mr. Stone and hugs him, "It's okay, I know what you're going through, I lost my daughter too, years ago."

Mr. Stone tries to calm down, "Was she murdered like my daughter was?"

McArthur tries not to to cry, "Yes she was, her killer was never found, it was worse for me, because I was the one who discovered her dead body."

"So you know how it feels to lose a child too? How do you cope with it everyday?"

"You just do good things and think that their in a better place."

"Do you know who my daughter's killer might be?" Mr. Stone gets up.

Demer speaks up, "Yes, his name is Asmodeus and we have him in custody would you like to see him?"

Mr. Stone runs up to Demer, "Yes I would, so I can kick his ass!"

Demer walks Mr. Stone to the holding cell and McArthur follows them. When they get there they see Matt hanging from the bed and they see Asmodeus is gone.

McArthur runs into Matt's cell and checks his pulse, "He's dead, it looks like a suicide and I see he left a note." McArthur reads the note and says to himself, "This guy is my daughter's killer."

Demer looks around the cell, "Ok where did wise ass go, how did he escape!?"

Mr. Stone looks at Matt's dead body, "This was the asshole that had sex with my daughter when she was only 16 years old."

Demer looks at Mr. Stone, "Oh, yeah I remember Dawn telling me something about that, so you where the guy who beat up Matt Sexton?"

"Yeah that was me, I remember him standing at my front door when I came home, he was in his underwear holding a video camera, and I chased after him as he ran to a white car that sped off after I grabbed him."

"Did you see who was in the car?"

"The driver looked to be in his 40s, and I didn't get the plate number, but I smashed Matt's camera over his face, I called the cops and I was going to press charges for him having sex with my daughter, but he threatened to sue so I didn't. Also to make things worse the ass face uploads a video of him and his buddy having sex with my daughter on YouTube!"

McArthur drops the note and looks up at Demer after Mr. Stone leaves the room, "If he would of press charges against Matt, Brittney would still be here."

"Yeah and karma got him and he lost his daughter." shrugged Demer.

"No one should have to live through the pain of losing a child, don't ever say that!"

"Alright, I'm sorry I'm just trying to make you feel better."

"Seeing other suffer doesn't make me feel better and he didn't know this would happen."

"Then what will make you feel better?"

"I don't think anything will, but at least Matt won't be able to hurt any other innocent young girls."

Demer looks at Matt's corpse, "What a waste of life this loser was, no wonder his mother kicked him out of her house."

"I couldn't agree with you more on that one, I think he killed my daughter because I registered him as a sex offender after he had sex with an under aged girl. I had him put in jail at the age of 19, but he was later released to see the birth of his daughter and the judge decided to free him so he could be with his kid, but he abandoned her anyway."

"Wait, you telling me this loser procreated!?"

"Yeah, he is Destiny Elvira's father and God only knows what other kids this guy fathered."

"You told me you weren't sure if Destiny was his!"

"Yeah, because I was afraid you say something stupid to the little girl."

"Oh come on, I would of kept my mouth shut about it, you know me!"

"Yes, I do know you and I know you have a big mouth."

"I don't have a big mouth."

"Yes you do, I couldn't count how many times we would interrogate people and you give out information that we didn't want the suspect to know."

Pentagrams appear on the walls in blood and Demer shakes, "Yeah I think it be a good idea to evacuate Bricktown!"

McArthur looks at the pentagrams, "This is definitely not normal, I agree we should try and get everyone out of here!"

"I don't care about them! I want to get out of here!" Demer runs out of the room.

"Obviously you don't." McArthur then follows after Demer.
