"You can always take the easy way out and give up, but real strength comes when you decide to keep pushing forward no matter what the circumstances are."

MONIFAH
♡"Ugh," I scoffed, rolling over in my sheets to see an empty spot beside me.
With a long exhale I pushed myself out of bed, letting my feet hit the cold wooden floor.
The sunlight hissed at my face, as I opened the blinds.
Still being half asleep, I grabbed my robe and put it on before stepping out of the room and towards the amazing smell in the kitchen.
I walked into the kitchen, watching as Darius placed a pan on top of the stove.
"Good morning," I scratched my head, before sitting on the kitchen stool.
"Good morning," He smiled, clapping his hands together.
"I see you uh, found your way to the kitchen."
"Uh yeah, I hope you don't mind," Darius cracked the eggs into the bowl, whisking it together.
"Nah, it's cool," I answered.
"I got some omelets happening," Darius placed a plate in front of me.
"This is for me?" I asked, looking surprised.
"Yeah, this is for you," Darius smiled. "Enjoy."
"Thank you," I smiled, clearing my throat.
"Look uh, I really dig you Monifah," Darius stated. "And I hope we didn't move too fast, you know."
"Nothing happened that I didn't want to happen," I said, taking a bite from my omelet. "This is really good."
"So is that a bad thing or a good thing?" Darius asked.
"It's a great thing."
"Oh, it's great," He smiled, looking up at the ceiling.
I let out a soft chuckle.
"Alright cool, cool," Darius smiled. "So uh, I guess we can hook up again, right?"
Darius flipped the eggs with the spatula.
I nodded my head, "Mhm."
"Aw wait for a minute," Darius said. "You not gone uh, fake me out. Are you?"
I stared at him, eating the rest of my omelet. "Nope."
Darius pretended to wipe his sweat. "Whew good, because when I tell you I can't stand sleeping with a woman and afterward she just dog you out. You know how y'all do, don't be returning phone calls or playing me off in front of your friends like you don't know me and that nothing ever happened."
He smiled at me, causing me to smile back.
"Ima get myself an omelet, you want anything else?" He asked, placing the eggs on a plate.
"Don't ask that question," I shook my head.
Darius smiled, licking his lips. "Would you uh, like anything else?"
Honestly, I never knew that I would end up liking him this much.
All I could do was smile. "Um, I have to get ready for my lunch date with Sydney."
Darius winked at me before sitting down to eat his eggs.
I lifted my butt up from the seat, making my way back to the bedroom only to be pulled back by Darius.
He placed a delicate kiss on my lips, sending chills down my spine.
"Now you can go," Darius smirked at me, looking back down at his plate.
I wish I could explain his eyes and how the sound of his voice gives me butterflies or how his smile makes my heart skip a beat and how every time I'm with him, I feel so complete.
A smile grew on my face as I walked back towards the room.
I'm just afraid to fall for him though, I've been hurt so many times. That I'm just pushing the thought of us far out of my mind.
