His thoughts:

Ok.. I got the ring.
Ugghh WHAT IF I MESS IT UP?!

Grayson you can not afford to mess this up. This is suppose to be special.. SO DON'T F*CK IT UP.

Ok stay calm.. She's coming.

Your POV:

"Hey Gray, you ready?"

"Course."
He gripped onto your hand with his sweaty palms even though it was 40 degrees out.

"Why are your hands so sweaty?"
You giggle.

"Uhh.. No reason. Let's just take our seats."

Grayson is a huge fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, and so are you. He knew how much you've always wanted to experience one of their games in real life rather than on television, so he got you both tickets.

He pulled you to your close up seats and nervously sat down beside you while constantly looking up at the jumbotron.

Being Grayson's girlfriend for a little over two years made it easy to tell from his different emotions. It was obvious that something was bothering him, but you couldn't quite put your finger on what it was exactly.

You decided it would be best to brush it off and enjoy the game anyways. 

Time passes..

"This game is pretty good!"

"Yeah. It is."
He says repeatedly wiping his hands on his jeans.

Ok there was definitely something going on. 

"Oh look! The kiss cam!" You said excitedly while pointing up to the old couple displayed on the screen.

Grayson's thoughts:

Ok dude.. It's almost game time.
*I just realized that pun 😑*

Your POV:

"Aww.. The couples on the screen are so cute... You know.. I hate when guys propose at a baseball game. I feel like a proposal should be somewhere special for the couple. I mean if the baseball stadium is somewhere special for them GREAT, but I personally wouldn't want to be proposed to at a game."

Just in that moment Grayson's heart shattered. He was finally going to propose, but it's all ruined because it wouldn't be what you wanted and that's all that would matter.

You look over to Grayson as he stands up, leaving his seat.

"Gray, where are you going?"

After being ignored as he continued to walk away, you glanced back over at the jumbotron to see YOU on it. It wasn't until then you realized what you had done.

You stood up and chased after Grayson feeling like a total b*tch.

"Grayson wait!"

You pull back his arm and he finally stopped.
He wouldn't turn around so you walked around him to see his face.
It was completely red and soaked in tears that were still going down.

"Baby I'm SO sorry!"

You pull him into a tight hug.
His arms dangled next to you as he refused to hug you back.

"Grayson, if I knew you were going to do that I wouldn't.."

"That's the point Y/N, you aren't suppose to know. But if you wouldn't have said anything then you wouldn't have gotten your dream proposal and then.."

"GRAYSON I DON'T CARE HOW YOU PROPOSE TO ME! AS LONG AS I'M MARRIED TO YOU I'M FINE!"

"Bu-ut you said.."

"I know I've always said I wanted this big fantasy proposal, but that doesn't really matter! I love you and that's what matters."

He looked deeply into your eyes and let out a heavy sigh.

"Y/N, I love you too, but I think I need to head home for the night."

"Grayson.. I'm so sorry."

"I know. I get it. Goodbye Y/N."

Hearing him say "goodbye" made your heart race as he walked away. Did he mean goodbye as in see you later? Or were you really done?

This was supposed one of the best days of your life and it turned out to be a huge mess you desperately wish you could take back.
