Secrets (Hayes Grier)

Chapter 3

~Emma~

I texted Mahogany to come pick us up and that we were ready, she said she'd be there in 5 minuets

Me and Torrie quickly checked our looks one more time before we left

"Are you nervous?" I ask her

"Kinda, you?" she says

"Yeah" I said with a shakey voice

Soon we hear a honking from outside and we run out there to Mahogany's car and went to the party

As soon as we walked in, we saw tons of our friends

We followed Mahogany to our small group of friends in the other room

I tried to keep up without running into people but that was impossible

I ran straight into somebody causing them to spill there drink, but not on me luckly

"I'm so so so sorry, I can go get you another one" I offer to the stranger, then I look up to meet warm blue eyes

"It's okay, don't worry about it Emma" Hayes said with a smile

"Don't worry about it? Hayes, she made you spill your drink on me!" Alex said angry

"Chill babe it was just water anyway" he said. She rolled her eyes at me and stomped away

"Don't worry about her, she overreacts a lot" he said before walking away to find her

He knows my name? How?

"Emma! There you are, come on" Aaron says grabbing my arm and pulling me to our group

"What was that?" Nash asked

"Hayes talked to Emma" Torrie said smirking at me

"So?" he asks

"He only talked to me because I bumped into him and made him spill his drink on Alex" I say shaking my head at myself

"She deserves it" Taylor says taking a drink of his pop

"Why?" I ask taking a drink from the cooler

"She's a slut. She's only dating Hayes because he's popular. Typical high school thing" Nash said rolling his eyes

"Really?"I asked. I'm not shocked at all, seems like somebody like Alex would do

"You didn't know that?" Aaron asked shocked, I lied and shook my head

"YOU DIDN'T EVEN STICK UP FOR ME" We all hear somebody yell

We follow the voice to the living room to a crowd of people, all in a circle

"There was no reason to stick up for you, can't you do that yourself? You say worse to her anyway" Hayes says to Alex

"I don't care Hayes! I'm your girlfriend!" She yells

"Not anymore" Hayes says looking in her eyes

Her jaw basically hits the ground before Hayes runs upstairs and we all hear a door slam. All heads turn to Alex as she makes stone cold eye contact with me

"This is because of you" She says as her eyes water "you've always been jealous of me. Because I'm pretty, I'm popular, and I have Hayes. Everything you don't have" 

"You had Hayes" Nash says while smirking

"Because of you" she says to my face

I shake my head and run upstairs as well

Tear stream down my face as I look for a room that doesn't have a couple making out, or somebody playing 7 minuets in heaven

I find another room with the lights off, I listen closely. All I hear is light music coming from downstairs with people ooing and laughing

I go ahead and walk in before shutting the door behind me and sliding down it with my hands in my face

Of course I was jealous of Alex. She's right, she is pretty, popular, the "sweetest" girl in school, head cheerleader. Most of all, she was dating Hayes

It makes me sick to my stomach when I see them together. She always gives me glares, signaling for me to go away, and I do leave. I'm nothing compared to her.
