Chapter 26 ~ Slip Away

~Hayes~

I never understood how Emma's dad found out. We've been doing our best to keep it from them. Emma's mom likes me, but her dad doesn't. Me and Kat we've never had any issues with each other but she doesn't trust me. Nobody really does. That's what gets me frustrated. Once Emma was gone my heart sank. "Hayes" Nash said putting his hand on my shoulder. I was still standing here, where Emma left me. I sat on the curb where her dads truck was parked. "Where's Shawn?" I asked for the first time. It was the first time I even spoke. I was sitting there for almost an hour. "I don't know, I think he's at home" Nash said. I jumped up and ran to the garage. I grabbed my skate board and rode down to Shawn's. I rode up to his driveway and ran up to his door. I knocked hard so they could here me. His mom opened the door. "Hi is Shawn here?" I asked. "Oh hi Hayes. Um I believe he's up in his room packing. He's been feeling down lately. I nodded. She let me in and I ran up stairs. I walked threw the hall and found his room with the door shut. I opened it and Shawn quickly turned his head to me. "Hayes" he paused. "I heard about you and Emma" he said. "I figured" I said angrily. "What do you mean?" He asked. "Don't act like you don't know!" I started to yell a bit. "What do I know?" He asked. "Your the reason why her dad took her away.." I said, then it hit me. "You called him!!! You told him about me and her!!!!!" I screamed. He gulped, "Hayes-" "Don't even start with your apologies" I cut him off. "I know you kissed her, I know that you love her. I know everything. This is just a little payback." I said the punched him straight in the nose. "Have fun on tour with a broken face!" I said punching him a couple more times, he fell to the floor. I walked out of his house. I rode my skateboard back home. I threw my skateboard in the garage and ran to my room. I slammed the door and ran to my phone. I still had her number.

Me ~ Hey are you okay? Did he hurt you?

She responded right away.

Bae ~ I'm fine. But is locked myself in my room... I can't go a day without seeing, thinking or talking about you... I'm gonna miss you. You have been the best thing that's ever happened to me. I love you Hayes Grier.

With that Nash ran in. "Where did you go?" Nash asked. "I payed Shawn a little visit" I said. "Hayes why did you do that?!" He asked. "Are we playing stupid questions or naw. He called Emma's Dad and told him about us!" I yelled. "Hayes, you'll find another girl. Probably not as good as Emma. But you'll find her" he said. That didn't really help." Thanks that helps a lot" I said sarcastically. I can't get her out of my mind... I think I'm in love with her... I can't just let her slip away...
