Chapter 27
(Whatever it takes)
Ari's P.O.V.
The limo we had exited earlier was still out front so I ran up to it knocking on the passenger door. “Yes mam can I help you? Oh dear are you okay?” The chauffeur asked.
I just shook my head but answered “Yeah, I’m fine but can you take me back to the hotel?” He nodded unlocking the doors and starting to get out “I can get the door thanks” I told him as I opened the door and climbed in, but as I started to pull the door shut. It was pulled open from the other side.
“Ari, don't do this. I'm sorry I did that in there but I couldn't help myself. Please don't leave we need to talk. I have so much I need to say to you.” He pleaded.
“Not here, not now Caleb.” I said shaking my head.
“Then I’m coming with you and we can talk at the room, but this can't wait any longer. It has gone on not being addressed far too long already.” He stated jumping in and closing the door behind him.
The chauffeur lowered the separation window and looked at me in the mirror. “Is everything okay mam?” He asked for the second time tonight.
“Y...yes sir can you please just take us to the hotel?” He nodded and rolled up the window.
I turned to stare out the window. Not wanting Caleb to see the tears in my eyes.
“Ari baby, look at me” When I didn't, he took it on himself turning me to face him. “Aww love don't cry.” he said whipping away the tears on my cheeks, but this only made me cry harder.
Caleb pulled me into his lap cradling me like a baby as I cried into his chest. “I hate you Caleb. Yo...you can't mess with me like this. You make me an emotional wreck and I...I can't do it anymore.” I cried pounding his chest with my fist.
He didn't do anything to stop me, he just continued to rub my hair and rock me whispering how sorry he was.
Once we were back at the hotel I wiped my face, whith my arm and pulled myself out of the car and his arms without a word.
I ran for the elevator hoping to get on without him, but I was out of luck as I had to wait for one to show. I really just wanted to be alone right now, but I knew he wasn't going to let me.
Once on our floor I exited the elevator making a bee line for my room. Opening my door I ran inside, but Caleb was right on my heals coming inside and shutting the door behind him. “Please just go, I really just need to be alone.” I whispered moving towards the couch, but Caleb stopped me, lightly pulling me towards him.
“I'm sorry but I can't do that. We need to talk Ari. I am done with all the pretending. I'm sorry for upsetting you back there at the party, that wasn't my intention at all. I...I shit I am no good with words. Here read this, it say's everything.”
I watched as he pulled a letter from his pocket, handing it to me. Looking I realized it was my letter, the letter he left for me, the one I had left in my night stand. “How did you get this? You went through my room? How could you do such a thing? That was my personal stuff.” I yelled.
“Ari babe, calm down I didn't go through your stuff. Someone told me you never read it and where I could find it. Please just read it. I'll give you some time alone, but promise me you will read it?” He asked
