Chapter 15
Steadying myself for the battle ahead, I hear a familiar scream following after the roar. Confused, I snap my head in the direction of the piercing noise to find Topaz running as fast as her little legs could carry her from her home. I felt my heart skip a beat; my eyes fill up with tears as I struggle to breath. “Muto, hurry and take Topaz to the safe house while you can!” I exclaim. Still fascinated with his talent I watch Muto shift into a giant white lion and see him bound over to Topaz, who screams with delight saying “Oooh, big kitty!”. Muto seizes her by the back of her shirt and thrusts on to his strong back. Sighing with relief, I watch the two of them reach the safe house, and see the villagers usher Topaz in with tears of joy and relief. But that moment was short lived as the sound of the thundering footsteps of the monster come closer and closer. Finally standing on the opposite side of the village square in the shadows is the beast who threatens everyone’s homes and safety. Suddenly I’m hit with the foul stench that roles of this mysterious beast in waves, then it releases another roar that I did not only recognize from my dream, but from the day that I met Muto in the forest. The second I realize that Muto had not arrived next to me yet, he pads over and releases a fierce roar, challenging the beast. That when the hidden monstrosity finally creeps out of the shadows reviling its self for all to see.
