Chapter 5
“Um, maybe we should…” “RUN!” I scream, terror stabs me in the heart as I recognize the darkness as the same feeling when my uncle disappeared. I take off running at full speed, as I tare through the forest, I see a white stallion coming up behind me. I have one chance at this! When the stallion came up beside me I leapt, grabbing a handful of the horse’s mane, I used it to swing my legs over it onto a riding position. “Get us some distance while I will try to slow it down!” I yell, the stallion whines in response. Feeling the horse kick up speed, I power my energy into the world, forcing it to bend and tangle in the middle of the path. I hear a distant angry roar after about ten minutes of doing so. “I think we lost him, you can rest now.” The horse heavily panting comes to an abrupt stop. I hop down and pat him on the neck, “this way, you can shift when we get there.” Gesturing with my hand I walk at a steady pace towards my home.
