New York City
Onika Maraj-KnowlesI pulled into the parking space that was reserved for me in front of my store, and I parked the car.
I sent a text to Bey letting her know that I made it to the store, and I grabbed my purse and key, and got out of the car.
I locked my car door and I met Candi at the front door of the store. She unlocked it, and we both walk inside.
I walked over to the counter where the cash register is, and I put everything except my phone away, so I could get everything ready before we open.
"Nic, I'm going to the back to make sure everything is set. I'll be back in a second, just yell if you need me." Candi said.
I just nodded my head, letting her know I heard her.
My phone buzzed next to me, letting me know that I had a text message.
I looked at it, and there was a message from Bey.
Ever since she and I had that phone conversation yesterday, we have been texting non stop.
I love the fact that we are talking more often, but it still doesn't compare to having her here with me in person.
I don't know, maybe I'm not being sensitive to her situation, and instead of being another problem she has to deal with, I should try and be more understanding.
It's just that I'm not used to her being away from me for long periods of time. And yesterday she told me that I would see her soon, and I hope that soon means like in the next five minutes, because I miss her.
I miss her smell, her voice, the way she touches me, the way she would hold me. Everything.
I mean hell, the last memory I have of her touching me, is the last night we had sex. Which also happens to be the night before she left. So to say I'm sexually frustrated on top of all this missing her, is and understatement.
I really hope that she knows what she is doing to get this situation under control. But she also needs to know that I am here to help her with whatever she needs. I told her that the night before she left. I hope she remembers that.
I heard the door of the store open, and when I look up, Damien's girlfriend walks in with two other women.
Great! I say to myself.
I just want there to be a day where I don't have to see Damien or his girlfriend's face.
She smiles at me as she passes the register, and she walks over to a rack filled with hangning clothes, and she begins to go through them.
I return her smile with a fake one of my own, and I roll my eyes.
She and her friends are giving me this uneasy feeling, and I don't like it.
While their busy looking through clothes, I pretend I'm doing something on the computer, but I'm really just watching them through the store cameras.
I see Candi in the corner of my eye, coming back towards the register. I let out a sigh of relief.
"I am so glad you came back when you did." I whisper to her, when she got back to where I was.
She gives me a confused look.
"Why whats up?" she whispers back.
"You see that girl right there? I say, pointing to Damien's girl on the computer screen.
She nods her head yes.
"She's Damien's girlfriend. The last time she was here, she almost got her ass beat for coming at me crazy, but Damien stopped her." I said. "But, I still don't trust the bitch, and now she has two other people with her that I don't know, and the last she was here, she didn't exactly leave on good terms with me , so just help me keep an eye on them please." I tell her.
