Sides

There was middle class, and then there was the class underneath that. Immigrants and minorities came under, and finally the class underneath that was poor white families. They weren't granted special circumstances, like other racial groups since they were born there.

Bruce had paid for all of Wally's tuition and his ride to Central City University, despite Wally and Barry telling him they'd find another way.

Rudy, Wally's father was the only supporter of the family of three, and he didn't do a good job managing it at all.

The only time Wally got new clothes or school supplies was went his Aunt Iris took him out, or when Dick got him gifts for a holiday or his birthday.

His father when he wasn't intoxicated or gambling would sit on their frumpy couch and yell at the President, the democrats, and everything that helped people who were not white.

Wally, being raised in a primarily red state was used to it. The news was filtered to only show Republican viewpoints and how the democrats were crushing the States into ruin. He had no other person to confront about political sides because most of the adults in his life ignored him or refused to talk to him on the matter. Sometimes he would disagree with some of their viewpoints with good reasoning and analysis.

All the time, the other person would shake their head and frown saying, "You wouldn't understand, you're too young."

He wasn't too young to fight against the domestic terrorism, however.

When he met Jinx, at first their political point of views were a complete 360 from each other. After almost breaking up because of their viewpoints, they agreed to never watch USA filtered news. They stuck to international news to capture highlights or had friends alert them whenever.

It helped that Jinx was into journalism so she could dig up her own news without the bias of other newscasters.

Wally began to change however when it happened.

The guy was running for President and running his mouth on racism, sexism, and just about everything ending with -ism.

Jinx and Wally were sure that he was just a joke, after all there was a guy who tried to run for president with a boot on his head.

When it was an evil against another evil, Wally asked Jinx what she was going to do, Jinx looked down.

"The lesser evil."

He knew this election would tear the country apart more than it did before.

Sure enough, it did.

He remembered being at the inauguration, all heroes that were able to attend had to. Jinx decided she wanted to hold down the fort in Central, or so she said.

The riots came almost immediately after it and he was first to witness. People were looting, going crazy, crying for something else.

He remembered Jinx's frantic call when things in Central had gotten so bad. There were over ten people or more injured from brawls and various disagreements.

Wally knew that the country he protected didn't stand for all the things he said.

So, taking to his social media, and like other heroes, he put out the message.

He is not my president.

Sorry to get political, but this needed to be said. This was my view on how Wally and Jinx would handle the 2016 election if they were in our world.
