Continuation of the story plot about Flinx in college.
The Graysons left early in the morning because Mar'i wanted to go to the zoo.
Wally scoffed as he read the note on the fridge. He took a sip of his drink and set it down quietly on the table. There were numerous photos of the family in different places in the house and Wally sighed.
This was what he wanted.
He wanted a family to call his own. He wanted a wife of his own. One who would look at him with eyes full of love and admiration.
He was great with kids!
Wally thought to himself. Don and Dawn absolutely looked up to him and loved him with their tiny hearts.
Man, he wanted twins.
Linda was walking down the staircase still in her pajamas. She saw Wally sitting at the island and staring out absentmindedly through the window.
Typical of him to be too consumed in one thing.
She rolled her eyes and just made her way to the fridge.
Wally snapped out of his thoughts when he saw Linda looking through the fridge.
"Graysons went to the zoo early in the morning." Linda drew her brows down. Zoo her ass.
She didn't reply and just took the strawberries out of the fridge and made her way back to her room.
Linda didn't even notice the other plate with pancakes next to Wally.
"Are they making any progress?" Kori and Dick were sitting at a bench in the zoo. Mar'i was playing in the kids section with her new friends.
Dick was looking at their security footage live.
"Nope. Wally cooked breakfast for the both of them, but seems like Lin didn't even notice."
Kori blew at some of her hair that spilled out of the ponytail. '
"I don't think it's a good idea to leave them there alone. They won't even talk to each other."
Dick turned off his phone and stuffed it into his pocket.
"Wally'll come around." He thought about Wally asking about settling down. How it felt. He thought of Wally's face as he tried to hide his disappointment.
Wally had enough.
Linda had ignored him all day long. He would knock on her door and ask her what she wanted to eat. She didn't respond. He would knock on her door to ask if she wanted to watch a movie with him. She didn't respond.
He was moody and angry and frustrated.
Dick texted him that he and Star were going to come back late and dropped Mar'i off.
So here he was, eating pizza on the couch alone. The stupid romantic comedy was upsetting him even more but it was the only stupid program on a stupid weeknight.
Man he couldn't wait to get back to Keystone.
Linda's soft footsteps were muffled under the carpet but Wally heard the slight creak. He narrowed his eyes.
"She finally makes a grand entrance!" He didn't even know what had come over him.
Her stance was proud as she approached him as was her eyes. They were set on him and the pizza he had next to him.
"I haven't eaten all day."
Wally kept his narrowed eyes on her.
"That's funny," he said with annoyance, "I made breakfast and lunch but you had to save your stupid pride and lock yourself in your room."
Their eyes were angry as were their voice tones.
"Well sorry!" Linda said sarcastically and stood, putting her hands on her hips. "Excuse me for not wanting to be in the same room as the guy who only used me for my body!"
There it was. The truth. The ugly truth. Wally had to think of a reply fast.
"You won't let go of that?!" Linda scoffed and mocked his stance.
She cleared her voice and attempted to lower it, "The only thing I care about is sex! I can get any girl I want!"
Wally stood now looking her deep into her eyes. This caused Linda to back away, her eyes still furious.
There was a wall behind Linda now as Wally put both his hands next to her head. He lowered his head to her ear so she could hear him better.
"If the only thing I wanted was sex then I would've already had you hours ago."
He pulled away and light brown met blue.
"You didn't even give me the chance to explain that morning." Wally stalked off to the love seat and stared at the tv.
"What were you going to say?" Linda bit with snark. "Thanks for the good time, call you next time I think with my other head?!"
Wally whipped his head to the side and glared at her.
"You don't even remember what happened the night before do you?" His voice was challenging and gentile at the same time.
Linda kept her hard face on. No. She didn't remember what happened the night before she left JCU. No one told her what happened because she wouldn't allow them to.
Wally was now in front of her again. Man that boy was fast.
"You were wearing that red dress. My red dress," He emphasized and let out a shaky breath. "You went to a frat party and got dead drunk."
Linda looked down at his socks. There was a hole and his left big toe stuck out.
"I saw you dancing with some random guy."
She pieced it together herself.
The frat boy was punched in the face repeatedly, the sound of knuckle on skin apparent. Linda looked to see Wally's pained expression in his blue eyes as he repeatedly socked the guy in the face. She turned away feeling nauseous. Wally carried her that night, bridal style when she finished emptying out her stomach. He was the one who held her hair and rubbed her back soothingly.
Linda looked up and saw how close his face was to hers. His freckles still there, dotted across the bridge of his nose and his cheeks. Wally's breath mingled with hers and she could smell his cologne.
She was stuck in his eyes, noticing the one sliver of green on the outside of his cornea.
Before either of them could move, Mar'i cried.
Wally pushed himself away from her and rubbed the back of his neck. Something he did when he felt nervous or awkward. He dismissed himself, mumbling how she could take a rest for the night.
Linda stood still in her spot.
