Chances POV

Beep. Beep. Beep.

I awoke to the sound of Tessa's heart machine beeping steadily. I smiled at her sleeping body, cuddled up next to mine. My smile soon faded when I realized that she was till hurt, and in the hospital. Her face was stained with tear streaks that must have been from last night. I swiped my thumb across her cheek and her pale face seemed life less. I heard her small breaths going in and out, reassuring me.

Glancing at the clock, I saw it was 7 am and I decided to grab Tessa some breakfast before she wakes up. I went into the bathroom, ruffled my hair, changed my shirt, and then called an uber. I kissed Tessa on the forehead and heard the song of the elevator, signaling it was ready.

When I reached the street I saw my uber and hopped in the car, asking to go to get doughnuts. Tessa loves Chocolate doughnuts with rainbow sprinkles, so I ordered a dozen. I decided to walk back to the hospital because I needed time to think, all of this...it was all my fault. If only Tessa and I weren't so drunk that night, or if I had said no to Camryn, maybe I wouldn't of ever had to deal with the baby, or maybe I would be becoming a father...

"Excuse me? Chance? I'm such a big fan, could me and my friend get a picture?!"

The boy looked like he was about fourteen and there was a girl next to him smiling eagerly.

"Sure guys"

We posed for the selfie and I made my way back into Tessa's hospital room. I placed my hand on the door, but could not bear to go in. I decided to call Jake.

"Jake, your never going to believe this but Tessa woke up!"

"Really?! I'm going to tell team ten and we will be over in an hour or two!"

"Ok bye man"

"Ohhioooo"

I ended the call and pushed the door open to find a still-sleeping Tessa. I took a dart on the chair next to her and placed my head in my hands. My fault, everything is always my fault....why did I have to date Camryn?! Why was I so freakin stupid!!!

"Ch..Chance."

"Hey t, your awake. How did you sleep?"

"Good now that I can actually wake up"

She faintly smiled and so did I. Tessa could always make the best out of the worst situations, even when she was the one hurt. I poured her a cup of water and handed her a doughnut, causing a huge smile to spread across her face.

"Here, have as many as you want." I told her while she bit into the large doughnut. She smiled and giggled a bit.

"Thanks Chance."she replied.
