Chapter 27: Change

April's POV

I'm here at my room. Preparing to attend my class. I was checking my bag and when I'm done. I immediately walk through the door and lock it.

"Maaga ka talaga, hindi katulad ni Flix." Jake said. After that day, he court me. Like hatid-sundo, kasabay ko halos magbreakfast, lunch, pati vacant.

"Grabe ka naman. Nagiimproved na siya." I said that makes him laughed. "Why are you laughing? Is there anything funny? I am being honest here." Kinuha niya yung gamit ko and nagsimula na kaming maglakad.

"How can you say that to your bestfriend?" He asked.

"Wow, coming from you. Sino ba nauna? Ikaw di'ba?"

"Hmm. Do you eat breakfast? Let's eat."

"No, Let’s go I'm hungry too." I said.

We headed to cafeteria and he ordered our food while I’m looking for a seat. I spotted Arwin and I go to his table.

"Morning. May I share with the table?" I said.

"Morning din. Sige lang."

"Thanks." Sakto naman dumating si Jake dala yung pagkain namin.

"Morning Dude." He said.

Tinanguan lang siya ni Arwin "Morning."

We are just quite eating when Arwin stand up and call a staff to clean. He look at me.

"I know you wouldn't go with me. I got to go. I will pick Flix. And Jake," he look at Jake. "You should drop her to the classroom after the two of you eat.” He said.

"Aye." And Jake salute at Arwin.

I don't know why Arwin is acting like that, but it is started when he knew Jake was courting me. I thought he will get mad and avoid me. But I'm wrong he was being like a brother to me.

When we finish eating we immediately call a staff to clean. And he immediately grab his bag and my two books. I grab my shoulder bag and we walk through the classroom.

As Arwin said, he accompany me to my classroom. And as usual there are a girls that looking at him. I grunt because of it.

"Don't mind them, and don't worry I'm yours." He said and gave me a playful smile.

"We we're discovering your special techniques by a combat battle." Sir Shiro said. I nodded. I'm on my last stage. The special techniques stage. I just started last training in my 5th stage. So I starting to know what is my special techniques.

We go to the center of training room. At first nagpapakiramdaman muna kami, but then I decided to attack. I use my droplets to attack him but he easily defend it by his a fragments of ice.

We just continued that until I was hit by a fragment made me stop for a while, but I immediately defend when he attack me.

He just attacking me by a fragments when I was hit by a ten consecutive times made me out of balance because it hits my feet. It hurts. He is attacking me and I defended myself even if I’m sitting because of the pain of my feet. I was busy defending when he produce a medium size block of Ice and threw at me. I can't block it by droplets! I was about to roll but something happen.

"What..".

When I was about to roll a shield made by water, was produce. And it blocks the medium size block of ice. Is this one of my special techniques?

"Wow, you’re really great April. You definitely made the one of your special  techniques." Sir Shiro said and smiled at me. "You know you are like your Mom. She is really like you. Same personality. Good to pick up."

"Thanks Sir." I said and try to stand but I can't.

"I'm sorry, I think my fragments is too much." He said and go to me to help.

"It is okay sir, that is part of the training."

"Lagot ako kay Alice niyan. Hindi ka ata makalakad. Arwin bring her to medical building to treat her wounds." I saw Arwin is coming.

"Yes Sir," and look at me. "Tara na." And binuhat niya ako papunta ng medical building.

"Salamat."

"Wala yun, tutal binilin ka sakin ni Jairo." He said parang may binulong pa siya.

"Huh?"

"Wala."

Hinayaan ko na lang kasi bumigat yung pakiramdam ko. I place my head in his shoulder and I sleep.

I woke up in the room that unfamiliar to me. I explore my eyes around the room. Plain white.

Bumukas ang pinto. "You’re awake, April." Mom said.

Ah, I remember. Dinala nga pala ako sa Medical Building.

"Magsstay ka muna dito, hindi pa daw magaling yang binti mo."

"Ahh okay." I said.

"Ano ba kasi ginawa sayo ni Shiro at ganyan ka?" She asked to me and frowned.

"Wala My, nagtratraining lang kami. Tinamaan lang ako ng 10 consecutive times ng fragments niya."

"Hindi okay yun Anak. Isa yun sa special techniques niya. Hindi niya siguro napansin na tinamaan ka ng 10 consecutive times."

I just nodded, wow, may ganun pala na special techniques. Awesome.

"Ito pagkain mo. Kumain ka at magpahinga ha?" Sabay abot ng pagkain sakin. At saka tumabi sakin.

"Thanks My."

She smiled. "No problem."

Jairo's POV

"Mik, why don't you stay here?" Mom said.

"Ma, I'm staying here for months." I said. This topic again. I'm on South Korea. To communicate with water benders. What I mean is water power users.

"I mean For good?"

"Ma, we talk about it already. I told you I can't stay here for good."

She sighed. "Hmm, Is this because of that lady? That lady that was mention by your father?"

I avoid her gaze. "This is not about her Ma, she was happy with someone else. Kaya ayaw ko magstay dito kasi gusto ko magtapos doon sa MH. Alam mo naman Ma, na simula bata ako nandun na ko. Besides I'm a commander of the Young Head."

"Hmm, okay. As you say. It is okay to me."

"Thanks Ma, balik na ko sa kwarto ko magpapahinga na ko." She nodded and I go to my room.

Matagal pa siguro bago ako umuwi. I know that there will be so many changes especially to April and that Jake. But I will happy to them. I admit I haven't move on. But I'm sure, I will move on someday.
