Chapter 19: What and Why's

April's POV

Nandito ako ngayon sa kwarto. Nagchecheck ng email, update in our mission, what I mean my first dangerous mission.

"Grabe hindi niya talaga ako kakausapin."

Nandito rin pala si Jake, tumatambay sa kwarto ko—nanaman. Simula nung nakita namin siya ni Flix, halos madalas na kami magkita. Of course with Flix but when times that Flix have something to do or lazy to go outside. I'm stuck in with him.

"Yah, yah, parang hangin ako dito." Jake said in playfully tone.

"May chinecheck lang ako. At tsaka bakit ka ba kasi nandito?" I said and put my phone down.

"Uhm, wala lang.. Kasi gusto ko?" I rolled my eyes at him. "At tsaka gusto kita kasama eh. Alam mo na... Baka may umaaligid sayo." Sabi niya sabay ngiti sa akin.

"Tigilan mo ko."

"Gusto mo ko?"

"No."

I frowned to him. Crush ko siya? Yes, but gusto? No I think. Since his my childhood friend and he is handsome and gentleman, kind and sweet. Many girls are attracted to him. And since when we’re a child I had a crush on him because he is the only guy that I am close with, but not literally. But now hindi na lang siya kasama na yung dalawa Jairo and Arwin of course.

"Sus. Indenial." He whispered but I heard it.

"Shut up, I'm not."

Tumayo siya. "Alis na ko, may gagawin pa ko." I nodded.

He is weird, isn't he?

I am walking alone here in the park. Just having alone time. I heard some whispers about me. I turn to where murmurs came from.

"Hey, it's that Ms. April? The Commander of Young Head Flix?"

"Yes, she is so pretty."

"And she is smart too."

I avoided my gaze. I appreciate their compliment, but I hate it, when they are treating high, because of my position. 

"Insecurities. Makes a person uncomfortable." I'm shocked when someone spoke. I immediately turn where the voice come from. It is…Jairo. Simula nung araw na ipakilala ko siya kay Jake hindi ko pa siya nakakausap, nagkikita kami, yes. Lately he often go through the classroom alone. I don't know why. I don't know what is wrong with him. It's like he’s avoiding me. I tried to approach him but always "I have something to do, I go ahead", "I'm busy right now". I don't know what’s wrong with him.

"Don't be insecure to yourself. You are better. You’re more than better." He said, nakatingin siya sakin. But after he said that he was about to walk away but I speak up.

"Jairo." He stop but not looking at me. "Why are you avoiding me? Is there something wrong?"

"Yes," Now he looked at me intently serious and he walk towards me.

"W-what's wrong?" I said. Nakalapit na siya, he held my hand.

"You."

"Why?"

"Because I---" he cut by a shout from...

"April!" Jake. Jake suddenly appeared and umakbay siya sakin. "Let's eat my treat."

Napatingin naman ako dahil naramdaman ko yung pagalis ng kamay ni Jairo sa kamay ko. Napatingin naman rin si Jake kay Jairo.

"Hi Bro! Jairo right?" Jake said. But Jairo ignored and he walk away from us.
