Leaning against the roof, two best friends watch the sunset together. "No matter how many times we watch it, it's always breathtaking," She breathes in a whisper. He chuckles, earning a slap on the shoulder from his friend. "Don't laugh me, jerk!" she grumbles," so mean."

"Hey, you know I don't mean it..," he pulls her closer, kissing her forehead and wrapping his arm around her shoulders. She rests her head on his shoulder, content. He chuckles, resting his head on hers. "We can't stay here forever you know. We'll have to leave each other one day," he mumbles, his eyes closing and savoring her closeness. She sighs at the reminder. Though they loved each other, fate is relentless at keeping them from being in a relationship.

Softly, she begins to sing, tears straining to roll down her cheeks.

(Play song now)
In the dark
And I'm right on the middle mark
I'm just in the tier of everything that rides below the surface
And I watch from a distance seventeen
And I'm short of the others' dreams of being golden and on top
It's not what you painted in my head
There's so much there instead of all the colors that I saw

Tears well in her eyes, dancing dangerously close to the edge. He tugs her closer, holding her tightly as darkness settles around them and stars slowly begin to shine in the dark and cloudless and windy night sky.

We all are living in a dream,
But life ain't what it seems
Oh everything's a mess
And all these sorrows I have seen
They lead me to believe
That everything's a mess

But I wanna dream
I wanna dream
Leave me to dream

He begins to join her, singing with heavy emotion. Stars shine brighter with each sung word that dances into the night quiet scene. Her eyes close slowly as she leans into his warmth, savoring the moments they had together.

In the eyes
Of a teenage crystallized
Oh the prettiest of lights that hang the hallways of the home
And the cries from the strangers out at night
They don't keep us up at night
We have the curtains drawn and closed

We all are living in a dream,
But life ain't what it seems
Oh everything's a mess
And all these sorrows I have seen
They lead me to believe
That everything's a mess

But I wanna dream
I wanna dream
Leave me to dream

She slows her voice to a stop, silently listening to him singing.

I know all your reasons
To keep me from seeing
Everything is actually a mess
But now I am leaving
All of us were only dreaming
Everything is actually a mess

We all are living in a dream
But life ain't what it seems
Oh everything's a mess
And all these sorrows I have seen
They lead me to believe
That everything's a mess

But I wanna dream
I wanna dream
Leave me to dream

I wanna dream
I wanna dream
Leave me to dream

Gently ending the song, he opens the window and scoops her sleeping form into his arms, swinging his legs into the room. He slides off the ledge and walks to his bed, laying her down and covering her with the sheets. After closing the window, he walks out of the room, heading to the kitchen. As he enters the kitchen, the guardian looks at him and shakes their head.

" You know, a child of night and a child of the day can never be together. Especially if one is demon and the other an angel. You both have known this for sometime, as well as that it is only a matter of time before your wings and powers fully develop," the guardian reminds him, making the boy groan as he holds a glass of wine.

"Yes, yes. I am fully aware of these facts, Kissae. She and I will never be and we are destined to leave each other's lives forever. I understand very well, as does she. You do not need to tell me every time you see me," he grunts, sipping his wine and looking out the window. The stars shine bright on the sky, their lights dancing to the gentle rhythm of the traveling winds.

Kissae chuckles, gently slipping the glass from his hands and setting it aside. "You know, drinking is bad for your health."

"I drink in moderation, Kissae." The boy retrieves his glass, staring into the rich garnet color wine. He chuckles and takes another drink.

Meanwhile...

The girl sits up on the bed, yawning and slipping away from the covers. Slipping one of his jacket over her shoulders, she makes her way downstairs quietly, listening to Kissae talking with the child of day. She walks into the kitchen as he sets the glass down, her quiet movements unheard in the room.

"Kissae...you're home again. I left your dinner in the fridge. You only have to heat the soup," she stretched and took the boy's glass and drank the rest, setting the cup in the sink. Kissae took their meal out of the fridge to heat it up before eating. The girl hopped onto the counter and grabbed the bottle of wine from his hands. "You only drink when you're stressed... What's wrong?" she voice her concerns, knowing if he look into her eyes, he would tell her.

"It's nothing my dear, everything is fine. I just felt like having a glass tonight," he stares off, refusing to look at her while lies leave a horrid taste in his mouth. She shakes her head, taking one glance at the bottle before debunking his lie.

"You know...I'm not stupid enough to believe that lie. This bottle," she raise the bottle in her hand,"is almost empty, so regardless of what lies you try to tell me, something is amiss. Now would you like to tell me?" She knew well he is stubborn, though she hoped he would simply tell her. She watched as he raked his fingers through his hair, distress clear in his movements. She holds his other hand in hers, smiling gently to him as she lifts his hand to her lips. "You know I'm here to help you...please rely on me more," she murmured against his hand, sliding off the counter and pressing her free hand to his cheek.

He chuckles, his chest vibrating under the weight of her head. "I know, I know. I just don't want you to worry, I want you to be carefree while we can." He wraps his arms around her, kissing her forehead and glances at Kissae, who is watching the two with a sad smile.

"It's feels wrong to separate you two when I see you two together. Enjoy it while you can and remember these times when you wait for the next generation," Kissae tells them for what seems to the billionth time. The girl sighs heavily, pulling herself away and heading outside. She grabs her keys as she leaves, saying she'll be back by midnight.
