We were awoken by the sun, the light piercing through to our shut eyelids.
I could see Riley was awake, and she saw I was awake as well.
"Ready?" I asked her.
She simply yawned while nodding.
We both sat up and began to pack up our blankets and throw away the trash we had made.
"Let's move," I told her, and we did.
However, we didn't get very far.
As we turned the corner to get out of the alley and go find another place to stay, two men reached out and grabbed us. One had a bandana over his mouth that looked like the bottom half of his face was a skull. His hood was up, and all I could see was his hazel eyes and brown hair.
The other guy had just a plain black mask on, one that covered his entire face and was much more terrifying. They both wore gloves.
The skeleton grabbed my arm and pulled me, away from Riley. Out of the corner of my eye I could see the other man picking her up.
"Get off!" I yelled, kicking the one that had my wrist in the gut, which loosened his grip on me just enough for me to grab his hand and twist it backwards, then push him on the ground.
I ran over to the man that had Riley and punched him in the nose, distracting him so I could take Riley from his grasp.
She wrapped her legs and arms around my torso and neck, and I carried her and ran the other direction. I could hear her sobbing into my shoulder.
"Who are they?" She asked.
"I don't know."
I kissed the top of her head and held her tight against me. "Shh, you're ok, I have you now."
I ran and ran, but somehow it wasn't enough. I looked back to see if I had lost them, and the only thing I saw was the guy with the black mask shove a wash cloth to my nose and mouth.
I faded, fast. I tried my hardest to fight back, but I was getting weaker and weaker. Before I lost complete control I could see them tearing Riley off me and doing the same thing to her. I didn't have her, and she wasn't okay.
Then, everything went black.
