Water splashed on my shoes as I slipped into the alleyway. I leaned my back on the cold, wet, brick wall and caught my breath. Out of the corner of my eye I could see the flashing police lights drive past and I let out a sigh of relief. This makes twice this week that I've nearly been caught. I need to be more careful.
Pulling my hood over my head, I checked my watch.
1:54 am. He was supposed to be here by now.
I dug into my backpack until my hand wrapped around the barrel of my gun. Inhaling deeply, I put it in my back pocket.
Do it for Riley I think to myself.
Right at the strike of 2, Damon strolled into the alley, dragging a middle aged woman behind him.
"I thought we said meet at 1:50?" I barked at him.
"I know, but she put up a fight." I noticed the lady had a gag over her mouth and her hands were tried behind her back.
"What is she in for?"
"She snuck into the underground to do an investigation. She's an undercover cop or something. Boss said to take her to you."
I nodded and grabbed my gun.
"The underground is our turf. It was silly of you to even think about busting us. On your knees." I demanded.
I could see the fear in her eyes as she refused. She shook her head as a single tear fell from her check.
"We can do this the easy way or the hard way. Get on your knees," I repeated.
This time, she turned around and tried to run.
"ON YOUR KNEES!" I yelled and raised my gun.
BANG
She tumbled to the ground, blood pouring from her thigh. I flinched at the sight but I knew I couldn't let my guard down.
I walked over to her, a menacing smile on my face.
"Do you think this is a game? I thought I gave you an order?"
Whimpering, she brought herself to her knees and I removed her mouth gag.
"Any last words?"
"Please. Have mercy. I have two kids, they need me," her sobs echoed off the brick walls.
"I know no mercy."
I raised the gun, pointing it in between her eyes,
took a deep breath,
and shot.
