A few moons later

Wispkit woke with a start. He was going to be apprenticed, and was completely used to his other half, Splashkit. He and his sisters were getting apprenticed a half moon late since Bramblestar wanted to have all of the kits be apprenticed at the same time. Berryfall, Eelwhisker, and Scalefur where now available to train them since they had their warrior ceremony a moon ago. Wispkit hoped to get the calm and young Scalefur or the older, wiser Monkeytail.
"Let all cats old enough to climb sit on the branches around me," Bramblestar called. The clan soon gathered, ears pricked. "Today is a special day. Five kits are ready to become apprentices. They'll have only a moon of training on dry ground before the rains come," he meowed while jumping on the kit platform.
"Step forward," he meowed to the five kits. They obeyed. "From this day forward, until you receive your warrior names, you will be know as Ravenpaw, Snowpaw, Wisppaw, Otterpaw, and Tigerpaw. Monkeytail, you have trained many apprentices. I hope you pass all know to Ravenpaw," he meowed. Monkeytail leapt to Ravenpaw, and they bowed to each other, promising to do their best.
"Branchclimber, train Snowpaw hard. I know you will pass your agility and balance to her," Bramblestar meowed. Branchclimber and Snowpaw bowed to each other when Branchclimber reached the platform.
"Scalefur, I know you are young, but you are ready for Wisppaw." Wisppaw felt excitement bubble in him. Scalefur was his mentor! Scalefur bounded forward to bow to him. Wisppaw almost forgot to bow in his excitement.
"Slothclaw, pass your patience and gentleness to Tigerpaw," Bramblestar meowed as Slothclaw bowed to his new apprentice. "And finally, Longleap, pass you long lasting energy and immense leaping skills to Otterpaw." The clan cheered the apprentices new names. Wisppaw immediately felt shy again. He didn't feel that comfortable with strangers. Even if they were in his clan. He barely noticed as Scalefur padded closer to his apprentice.
"You need to learn how to climb," Scalefur meowed, making Wisppaw jump. He turned to face his mentor.
"You scared me!" Wisppaw meowed. Scalefur's whiskers twitched in amusement.
"Have you had any experience climbing?" Scalefur asked. Wisppaw shook his head. "Not even sneaking out of the nursery?" Wisppaw shook his head again. "Alright, I guess we have to start from scratch. When you climb, make sure to use your tail. It'll help make you more stable walking on the thin branches. In other words, your tail can be used to balance yourself. Like this," Scalefur meowed, walking over to the nearest branch. He hopped on. His tail flicked from side to side, and up and down as he walked along the branch.
Wisppaw noticed he kept his claws out, digging them into the branch. Scalefur crouched over the branch, keeping his center point low to avoid falling off. Wisppaw crept towards the branch. He unsheathed his claws. As Wisppaw crept onto the branch, he kept himself low. He moved his tail to the opposite side he was tipping.
"Good job!" Scalefur congratulated him. "Are you ready for jumping?" Wisppaw nodded hesitantly. He knew he could do it. He was just frightened of the negative outcome.
"Ok, now when you jump..." Scalefur began, helping Wisppaw correct and improve his positions. They practiced all day. After Wisppaw ate, he collapsed in the apprentices den. His eye lids soon shut, as he drifted off to sleep.

Sorry for the time skip! I really want to get to the interesting part!
