Mudsplotch awoke. What a dung-face. He thought, thinking about his counterpart. He curled closer around Tigerflower. She purred in her sleep. She had said she was cold, so Mudsplotch slept with her in the nursery. Her swollen belly making it hard to curl around her. Sometimes Mudsplotch could feel his kits moving around. He purred when ever they did. He slowly removed himself from his mates side. He had a patrol to lead. Tigerflower stirred when he left her side, but soon fell still again. Mudsplotch sighed lovingly, and left to go lead a patrol.
Dawnriver, Vineflower, and Eveningbreeze were on his patrol. Mudsplotch tried to forget what his counterpart had done to two of the she-cats. Eveningbreeze was the only she-cat in the patrol left untouched by Splashclaw, but would most likely have her purity tainted by his foul objective. Splashclaw's goal was to have all the she-cats in camp produce his offspring. Only StarClan noes why.
"Shall we go?" Dawnriver asked.
"Yes," Mudsplotch answered. The patrol padded along the branch, jumped onto the next one, and padded along that branch till they reached the border. Mudsplotch marked it, and continued on to the next landmark. He marked that one as well. The patrol continued this way till all the landmarks were marked. They leapt back to camp.
Mudsplotch grabbed a large fish to share with Tigerflower. They ate it slowly. Tigerflower ate for two. Mudsplotch talked with his mother for awhile. It turns out she was expecting kits again. Mudsplotch forgot about hearing Bramblestar talk to Sootsplash when he was Splashclaw about him being their son, so he asked who was their and his father.
"It's Bramblestar. Haven't you notice? He has a white splotch, you have a brown splotch. He's a brown tabby which is why part of you is brown," she answered.
"Oh, right! I forgot about that. He came to the nursery when I was younger, right?" Mudsplotch asked.
"Yes, only once though. He was always busy with leader stuff and such."
"I'll try to make you and him proud," Mudsplotch meowed. His mother smiled.
"You already have," Sootsplash purred. They stood there in silence for a while. It wasn't awkward silence, more of a pleasant quiet. Mudsplotch left when Tigerflower called to him.
"Yes?" He asked.
"I was wondering if it would be a good idea to think of names for our kit or kits?" She meowed.
"Sure," Mudsplotch meowed. He settled down next to Tigerflower, and they talked for the remainder of the day. They came up with Shadowkit for a black kit, Riverkit for a brown kit, Flowerkit for a she-cat, and Dapplekit for a tortoiseshell.
Tigerflower yawned, and went to get to sleep. Mudsplotch decided he should as well after a large yawn. His eyelids closed, and he soon fell asleep.
