I went straight to my locker considering the bell had just rung. I've said it before and I'll say it again; the teachers don't like you being even remotely late.
First period today was Geography, and Science, second. I grabbed my books out and slammed my locker shut, racing to the Geography room.
I sat down at the closest free desk to the door, just in time. Just before our Geography teacher Mr Xander, stepped through the door and yelled at everyone.
"Shut up, sit down and turn to page 216!" He yelled and everyone who was out of their seats scrambled back to position and got their book out, flipping to page 216.
"Today, we're going to start learning the concept of landscaping....." his voice droned out the entire lesson, but I wasn't paying attention to him.
I had blocked out his voice within the first twenty minutes of the class, and it wouldn't affect me anyway.
I was thinking about Percy and what had happened last night and why he had rushed out in such a big panic.
"Ms Cecil." I hear a voice say, breaking me out of my daydream.
I look up and see it's Mr Xander. "Yes, sir?"
"Get out of my class!" He hollered at me.
It was then I noticed that there was no one else in the room and looking at my watch told me class ending almost three minutes.
I hurriedly packed all my equipment up and scurried out into the hall, towards my next class, science.
I say science, like it's general science, but really I'm specialising in chemistry. I've loved chemistry ever since we had to do it during Year 8 in highschool.
I was one of the first students to learn 'The Elements of The Periodic Table', the first twenty anyway. Plus I even went ahead and learnt the lyrics (elements) to the Element Song by Tom Lehrer. Which is also the song Sheldon sang on one episode of Big Bang Theory.
After the teachers noticed I could do that, they could see I was better at chemistry then any other subject, science or not. They pretty much spoon fed me to take chemistry this year, but I was going to anyway.
I was half late to science. Late because everyone else in the class was already seated and chatting. Not late, because the science teacher was here yet. She was a sub today anyway, or so I had been told.
Soon enough, five minutes after I walked into class and took the remaining seat in the front row, a young lady wearing a too short skirt and a see through top sauntered into the room.
I assumed she was our substitute for the day, her taking out a small folder from her bad was pretty evident she was our sub.
But, as she walked into the room, her long brunette hair flipping about over her shoulder, she shot smiles at the boys who drooled at her. Sure the girls drool over Mr Holland, but this is just weird.
She swayed her hips back and fro while walking towards the teachers desk, where she finally took out her stuff.
And 'accidentally' dropped her blue whiteboard marker. As she bent to pick it up, I swear twelve jaws dropped. Twelve, because that's the number of boys in the class.
She straightened herself out and started the class, fifteen minutes after she should have.
"Hello class. My name is Ms Cooper. As you can tell, your teacher Mr Fritz is not in today, so you've got me today." She exclaimed.
"Your teacher left you a worksheet to complete. I don't know what it's about, I'm not a science teacher. It says here," she paused reading a sheet Mr Fritz had left her. "That you should finish within forty minutes, but you've got the whole lesson. I'll hand them out now."
She picked a stack of papers off the table and started handing them out. When she got to me, I uttered a quick thank you and busied myself in it, just like yesterday with Percy.
Percy.
I still need to talk to Percy about what happened last night, and I finally had a way to get to him. After thinking for pretty much the entirety of first period.
As our sub continued her way around the room, some of the boys stopped her and whispered something in her ear. Whatever it was, was soft enough that I couldn't hear it, but enough to make her blush and wink at him. And before she left that students table she scribbled something on his paper.
I turned around in disgust and scoffed. She's looking for attention, and the wrong kind of attention too. A school is not the place to find that. Maybe a street corner or a brothel but not a school.
And guess what? I finished the worksheet easily within the first twenty minutes of class. That meant another forty minutes to think about Percy.
And thinking about Percy must have gone pretty well because before I knew it the lesson had almost ended and Ms Cooper had us packing up.
When the bell went for break, she winked at a few of the boys as the were leaving the doors.
I made a sound crossed between a grunt and a scoff in disgust and several people looked at me like I was crazy.
I ignored them and continued on my way. My way to try and find Percy and get some reasons out of him.
That wasn't even a thousand word chapter for you guys here. But not to worry! Next chapter will have well over a thousand words for you lovely people.
If you're enjoying your time reading, vote and comment to let me know!
At the top is 'The Element Song' by Tom Lehrer. That's for you Mitchell. If you're reading that is.
Later dudes.
