Everyone knows the saying, 'you learn something new everyday'. So here's something you'll learn today.
Percy sucks at Maths.
"No wonder your coach is threatening to kick you off the team." I told him.
"What? Hey, that's not nice!" He huffed.
"Percy. This worksheet is one sided, has twelve questions and you got stuck on question one."
He shook his head. "No. I got stuck on question two, I skipped question one."
I slapped my head on the desk, similar to what Percy did yesterday. "You're a lost cause."
"Fine! Don't tutor me anymore. But when I get kicked out, I'm going to haunt you. And! And you won't get your donuts." He teased.
Which reminded me. "Where's this place you're taking me?"
He suppressed a smile. "You'll see. Now are you going to help me some more or what?"
I thought about it, and so did my stomach. "I think we can come back to this later."
Percy agreed and packed up the worksheets littered on my desk. He shoved them into his bag and I led him downstairs.
I yelled into the living room, where Mum and Dad were most likely situated.
"I'm going out!"
"Okay Pumpkin. Who are yo-oh." Dad stuck his head around the corner. "Hi Percy."
"Hi, Mr Cecil." Percy said politely.
"Are you treating my daughter good, son?" Dad asked him suddenly, making my jaw drop. "Do I need to get my shotgun-"
"Dad!" I yelled at him. "Okay, no we're leaving now." I pulled Percy by the arm towards the front door.
Dad chuckled behind me. "What time will you be home by?"
"I-uh-" I stammered but Percy interrupted me.
"10 Sir. She'll be home by 10 o'clock." Percy said, still with my hand on his arm.
"Okay kids. Have fun!" Dad swung his head back into the living room and we left the house.
I pulled Percy down the front steps and towards his car, where he opened the passenger side door for me.
"And they say chivalry is dead." I laughed.
He hopped into the car and told me to put on my seatbelt. But I had already beaten him to it, as that's a habit for me when entering a car.
He took the car out of park and switched it to drive, speeding off down the road, heading to wherever Percy has in mind.
Before I knew it, Percy had sped up way past the speed limit, and was travelling at twenty kilometres above the of 60.
"Percy! You're going to fast! Slow down!" I yelled at him above the roar of the windows. "The limit is 60!"
Percy just threw his head back and laughed. "That's just a suggestion. I can go as fast as I want."
"No, you can't Percy! It's illegal." I screamed.
As Percy was about to respond, a loud siren blared from behind us and the bright red and blue lights from a police vehicle flashing.
All I could think at that time was oh shi-, but Percy interrupted me by speaking my thoughts.
He pulled the car over, and the cop car pulled in behind us. A big buff guy walked out of the police car and walked over to us.
