Percy pushed me forward, but he came with me. I didn't pull him with me, he just stepped forward alongside me.
"Mum." Percy groaned. "Why must you do that again?"
The woman, Percy's mum, chuckled lightly. "Sorry Percy, I can't help it. It's just so much fun!" She stroked the cat again and let it go.
She wiped her hands on shirt and stepped up from the chair. "Now Percy, aren't you going to introduce me to your friend?"
Percy stepped forward as well, letting go of my hand. "This is Athena. Athena, this is my Mum."
She stuck out her hand and I gladly took it, giving it a small shake. "Pleasure to meet you Athena. Percy has said so much about you."
I looked at Percy and saw him turn a red shade of red. "Pleasure to meet you, Mrs Parker."
Mrs Parker shook her head and laughed. "Please dear, call me Victoria."
I smiled at her. "Sure....Victoria."
Percy interrupted us by saying. "Is Dad in the study?"
Mrs Parker-Victoria- nodded.
Percy grabbed ahold of my hand and gave it a tug, leading me out of the dining room and into another corridor.
We past room after room, going through the longest corridor that I've ever come across. Then again, I haven't been in many mansions.
Finally, Percy's hold on my arm loosened and he pushed open another big wooden door. He gestured for me to go inside, and I did so, slipping past him.
Percy had led me to a study. It was shaped in a hexagon, and four out of the six walls, from floor to ceiling, were bookshelves of dark mahogany wood. Each bookshelves was filled with books of all kind. Arranged in alphabetic order, just like a library.
Fiction and Non-Fiction branched off into many kinds. Mystery and Thriller, Humour, Young Adult, Action and Adventure. I was marvelling at the books, and failed to notice the man in the room.
He was sitting behind a large leather chair, one similar to the one Victoria swung around on. In front of him was a MacBook laptop, and several papers and blueprints were spread across the desk.
The desk itself, was made of the same mahogany wood the bookshelves were. And to top of the room, a Kelpie lay in front of desk.
As we walked further into the room, the man looked up from his typing and smiled. "Ah, Percy. You're home."
He came around the desk and grasped Percy is a hearty hug. I assumed this man was his father, because Percy was hugging him back just as tight.
Percy broke the contact and motioned for me to step forward. "Athena, this is my Dad, Will. Dad, this is Athena."
Will stepped away from his son, and gently grabbed my hand, bringing it to his lips and giving it a small kiss. "Pleasure to meet you Athena."
I blushed profusely. "Pleasure to meet you too Mr Parker." It seemed wrong to go on a first name basis with someone I barely knew.
Will made a tsk tsk sound and wiggles his index finger. "Nah-uh. Try again Athena.
I stared at him confused as to what he meant, but then said. "Pleasure to meet you too, Will."
Wills smile grew and his eyes sparkled.
Percy groaned from beside me. "Did you really have to kiss her hand?"
Will chuckled. "Its traditional son."
Percy sighed. "Yeah yeah, but that doesn't mean you kiss Flynn's hand."
Will barked out in laughed. "He was asking for that, the way he was dressed."
Percy let out a little laugh as well. "Yeah, he was. Anyway, I'm taking Athena to Maria, I promised her donuts."
Will walked back around to his desk and sat down, Percy lightly grabbed onto my arm. Before we left the room, Percy blew a sharp whistle and the dog jumped up and trotted out the door with us.
The dog followed us all the way through the corridor, sticking by Percy's left side, which is also in between me and Percy.
Percy again, led me through room after room and into a kitchen. It wasn't exactly busy, but there were two or three cooks running about, making meal preps.
Percy led me over to one of the cooks, a woman who looked to be in her mid forties. "Maria!" He called out.
"Percy!" The woman called back and ran over to hug Percy.
"Maria, this is Athena." He gestured to me.
"Pleasure to meet you Maria." I said politely.
In the span of twenty minutes I had seen a lot of Percy's house, and i had met three new people. Now I'm little Ms Social.
Percy leant over and whispered something into Maria's ear, whose smile grew twice the size. She hurried off to some corner of the kitchen.
Percy grinned at me. "Ready to make some donuts?"
